Sitting at my desk doing English homework, I realized. Who do I want to be when I grow up? What is my life coming too? I then picked up the phone and called Aidan.
"Hey Aidan, do u wanna hangout today?" I wondered, would a person two years older then me respect, or would he take advantage of me.
Ian was my cousin. He absolutely hated school. Actually hated is an extremely kind word choice, the kind of thing he would do to not go to school were a bit drastic. Currently he is going through his, I'm way too cool for this universe stage; yep, the one that occurs when your 16. A couple weeks ago he had got his license and let's just say that things were off to a wrong start. He isn't the best driver ever, is one way to say it. The other would be, he's crap.
He responded, "actually I was just gonna call you." I was pretty surprised when I heard him say that, was he high or something. After talking to him for a while I found out two things: he's not high, and that he can actually be nice.
I didn't really know what I should bring, so I just went with the basics: clothes. A couple minutes later I arrived at his house. I knocked on the door, waited a bit, and the rang the doorbell. He opened up the door and I went into the house. There wasn't a parent at his house, which I found weird. I headed downstairs and then we discussed what we should do. He was stuck on the idea of darts, and well it was his house, so I didn't have a choice. We pulled out the darts and began to play, or whatever you call trying to play, but completely sucking.
A few minutes later, we gave up and I asked if Aidan wanted to go for a drive. He seemed quite surprised by the idea of me trusting him. We decided that we were going to go to a park. Aidan said that he was planning on doing the Harrison Hike in a couple of months. So I said I would do the hike with him, so we decided that this would be a training session.
Aidan said that he had to get dressed for the occasion so I just gave him a few minutes while I tried to become good at darts, it didn't work. He came out in a camp uniform and at that moment I realized that we looked so different. I was dressed in a cheap old navy shirt; and pants of course; and he looked like some kind of army nerd; for some reason he also had an axe but I just let it be. He gave me a backpack that looked identical to his so at least I looked kinda cool.
