As the school bell rang, Liza got into math class. She greeted her friend Michelle. They have started talking just a few weeks ago but always enjoyed spending time together.
At the very front sat Austin Roberts, very intelligent good-looking guy. He was in the football team but really cared about his grades too. Liza always payed attention to his smile, every time she looked at him. It was beautiful smile, like the ones you see on toothpaste commercials. His hair was light, always properly styled and his blue eyes were piercing through her every time she peaked.
No doubt, she was into him. But Austin probably knew stuff about her. The stuff that everyone in school talks about. Or at least she thought so.
Last year she wasn't in the best place in her mind. Low self esteem, bad company and a whole lot of other issues led to her getting high all the time. She was lost. And all she wanted was a distraction. She wanted to forget about her life for at least a little while. And what better way to do it rather than swallowing a magic pill that makes you forget about all you problems. Or in this case, snorting a magic powder.
After each line of coke she would feel herself become more energetic and more distracted at the same time. Like anything that was bothering her was just gone. After every high she could feel her waist getting smaller. And that's how the insecurities started going away. "Buying happiness" She referred to it as.
But all of this has changed now. She wasn't keeping contact with her druggie friends anymore. It's for the better she thought.
