4- A long night at Oberoi Mansion

Oh my gosh! Exclaimed Aira. Such a terrible voice ! She continued.
  Where it 's coming from ? It's scaring me now ! My heart just skipped a beat! Exclaimed Sanaya .
And soon the voice ended.
Mr Shaam! Exclaimed Shayan. What was this now ? He asked with a low voice and his head down in disappointment. Mr. Shaam? Where is he ?
  Everyone look around , and there was no sign of the caretaker.
Where's he now ? Asked Fawad scratching his head.
There was a silence for a few minutes.
  Look he's there ! Said Aira pointing her fingers towards the corridor upstairs.
All's right ! Exclaimed caretaker with a thumbs up to the group staring at him standing in the huge hall.
Where were you? And what was that voice ? Shouted Shayan.
Uhh that voice ? Asked the caretaker coming down .
It was Mr. Oberoi ! Exclaimed the caretaker . I think we are getting late .....lets start the preparations. He continued .
Was it Mr.Oberoi? Asked Aira. Is he all right ? Why did he shout like that ? She continued frowning .
  Ummm, he got a bad dream which made him shout like that , take it easy kids . Said the caretaker with a weird smile .
  Strange ! Exclaimed Aira to herself. And her mind started out working .....he's taking it too casually. But actually he was worried .....yes he was ....he ran up hurriedly as soon as he heard the voice but acting as if nothing happened! Confusing ! First that message, then the stranger and now this voice ! Something's wrong .....I dunno what , but I will surely figure it out .....
    Ummm, so let's start the preparations. Said Shayan. Mr . Shaam, we are going upstairs to have a check on rooms . Till that time I want you to clean this hall . Right ? I want everything perfect. OK? He continued.
   Sure, sir. Replied the caretaker looking a bit disturbed.
The four were going upstairs when suddenly the caretaker stopped them and said ... One thing sir . No one is allowed to go near the last room at the right corner. It belongs to Mr. Oberoi, he dislikes anyone near his room . So you kids will not go there , okay?
  Fine! said Sanaya with a grin.
The four reached the floor upstairs. Whoa ! Exclaimed Aira , beautiful room . She continued when she along with the boys entered into a room proximal to the staircase .
   Indeed ! Exclaimed Shayan , it's the best place for guests to halt . He continued.....
  The room was beautiful. Pinkish walls with light white shade near the ceilings. Bed with a beautiful floral bedsheet was placed at a corner of the room . Furniture was perfect . Only the unusual thing was the curtains . The curtains were dark brown in colour, which looked very odd against the beautiful pink and white theme .
  Yep...beautiful room said Fawad yawning. By the way, where's your sister Aira ? He asked .
  I don't know, said Aira with a shrug. Ummm , I guess she might be ......Saying this she went out of the room and started going in the right corner . She was followed by the curious boys .
   Caught you ! Exclaimed Aira .
Who's there ! Said Sanaya turning back with a frightened face . Oh it's you , you scared me! She shouted .
   Ummm, ok....now don't stare like that! Stop you three . She continued.
Look it's , human tendency to do what's prohibited! Exclaimed Sanaya. So that's why ......she continued .
Sanaya was trying to go near Mr.Oberoi's room.
  No, problem lady . It's fine said Shayan smiling at Sanaya.
It took almost an hour when all were done with their respective work . The palace shone brightly.....looked more beautiful.
All done , said Shayan with a sigh.
So let's go . It's already too late said Sanaya .
Oh yes, said Shayan having a look at his watch . And you Mr. Shaam, take care of the house , I will be back here tomorrow. Be in touch . Got to go right now. Said Shayan to the caretaker.
Sure ! Don't worry sir . Replied the caretaker.
The four went to the car standing outside . The car started . There was a silence for few minutes after Shayan started to drive .
   Wait ! Stop the car ! Exclaimed Sanaya. Please let me down . She continued.
What's the matter? Asked Shayan while the car gave a jerk as he stopped it .
  Sanaya got off the car and leaned down at something on the ground . She saw something attractive, maybe something that bothered her and silently put it in her bag hanging at her shoulder .
  What's the matter ? Asked Fawad in a concerned manner.
No nothing ! Said Sanaya turning back. I thought something of our intrest is lying here . It's , it's just a stone . She continued.
  Let's go then . Said Shayan yawning .
Sure , said Sanaya as she got back into the car .
Guys , promise me , whatever happened in the palace should be between us. Unnecessarily people will get worried. OK?  Said Shayan with concern.
  We promise , said the three together.
A few metres away on their way ,on a dark roadside where rarely anyone would be seen , a man with his back towards the car could be seen walking aside the road .
Shayan stopped the car behind him and blew the horn . A man with his eyes covered with his hands as the light of car shone brightly on him turned back . 
  Armaan? Said  Shayan to the man standing in front of the car . The man took off his hands and looked carefully inside the car . While Shayan got off the car .
  Oh , it's you Shayan ! Said the man looking a bit disturbed. The man was tall , looked as if he was of Rony 's age .
Shayan hugged the man .
Where are you brother? Your best friend's getting married and you are no where to be seen ? Asked Shayan.
  Uhh , actually I am a bit busy .....I will join you guys soon . The man said smiling weirdly .
Guys this is Armaan. Rony's best friend . He's no less than our brother. Said Shayan introducing the man to the group.
  And Armaan these are my best friends . My super talented boy Fawad , said Shayan pointing towards Fawad as the three got off the car.
  Hi bro ! Said Fawad as he took his hand forward.
This is the techno girl Sanaya . Said Shayan smiling at Sanaya.
  She smiled back .
Hey! Nice to meet you . She said to Armaan warmly.
  Hi , my pleasure to meet you lady! Intrested in gadgets , right ? Asked the white faced .
Yep ! Love them , replied Sanaya .
Oh good ! We are sailing in the same boat. Said Armaan happily .
  Meet her . She's the girl detective of our group, Aira . Shayan said pointing towards Aira .
Detective, ha? Seriously. Well then it's better for us to maintain a safe distance. Uhh, LOL ! Said Armaan smiling mockingly at Aira .
  What do you mean by that? By the way aren't you going rude ? Said Aira with her face red in anger .
Cool down girl . Said Armaan laughing . I was just kidding , he continued. 
  Good for you , said Aira in a low voice trying not to freak out .
By the way, what are you doing her Shayan ?
Nothing much, for some arrangements. And you ? Replied Shayan.
  Ummm , I am here just for a walk . Pleasant weather , right ? Said Armaan smiling.
  Walking ? At this time ? Asked Aira looking at her watch . You know right , it's 11:30 . She asked folding her hands together. 
I know yeah ! Said Armaan smiling. Detective, ha . Actually, I am a night bug ! Exclaimed Armaan .
  Listen , Armaan , tomorrow is a small get together at our house and we will be glad if you come . So you will be coming right ? Asked Shayan.
  Tomorrow? I am a bit busy boy . Started Armaan .
Oh , come on ! Exclaimed Shayan cutting his words . Your best friend is missing you . You have to come . No excuses. Even Amey is going to come . It will be your group's reunion or something like that. Right ? So you are coming . Anyhow . He continued.
  Ahh ! Amey's coming right ? I have to be there then . Said Armaan laughing. Ummm, I will try. And excuse me guys . Got to go. Bye he said waving to the group. Bye detective, see you soon , he said in a threatening voice or kinda that way . He smiled again and went off .
Amey is the bride , Rony's fiancée.
  Ummm, now can we go back ? Or shall I sleep here ? Said Fawad yawning.
Oops , I am sorry . I know it's to late. Said Shayan. Get in the car guys .
There was complete silence in the car till they reached home . Everyone thought about the palace , while Aira's mind stucked in that person , Rony's friend . The four reached home, half sleepy , half awaked. They bit goodbye to each other and went in their respective rooms and slept as soon as they reached bed.
