They hide within us

Chapter 1

Raine's POV

"Come on hurry up!" I yelled over the roars and the thundering beneath us shaking the ground looking over my shoulder.

"Raine look out!" Alex cries

"Huh?" I question whipping my head back around. I let out a cry as I duck, a huge log lay in my path nearly taking off my head. Adrenaline pumped through my veins as I jump back up and I start racing again the wind in my face waving my hair everywhere. I weave through the trees ducking and dodging vines as I go

I look ahead and see a maze of vines and sticks. A limb hung down from a glorious looking widow tree and I haul myself up with it pressing a kiss to my finger to the tree. And I whisper a quiet thank you before I launch myself up again jumping through the trees as they bend to my will.

"Raine slow down!" I hear Axel cry out and soon feel his hands grasping for my shirt but I only push harder

I break through the treeline and jump to the ground before pumping my legs and arms faster. "AHHH!" I cry out as I see the end. I feel my wings fold out and I'm raised slightly off the ground and I move faster than before as I throw myself over the edge. The water splashing against my thighs.

"Yes!" I call out, " I, Raine Clover White, have defeated the oh so pathetic AXEL, bow before my servant!" I yell at the top of my lungs over the roaring of the waterfalls seeing Axel break through the treeline as well. He bends over grasping his knees huffing. The thunder above us struck the sky loudly adding more effect as well as knocking Axel to the ground

"Come on Raine get away from there!" He demands standing back up as I hover over the great six waterfalls beneath me. The water crashing violently at the bottom and it raises up so it brushes the bottom of my foot.

A smirk crosses my face as an idea pops into my head.

"Raine don't even think about it," he warns edging closer holding out his hand. " Come on you've already beat me," he says edging even closer. I pretend to give in reaching for his hand and his shoulders slump in relief. I then grab him by the hand before I fly down towards the bottom.

"Raine no stop!" He cries clawing at my hand but I speed up. Right as we're about to hit the water I drop his hand and fly up and watch as he crashes into the water.

"Aghhhb the pain oww!" He cries coming up for air gripping his side

"Oh calm down you big baby I dropped you in the deep part where there's no rocks," I tell him watching as his eyes fill with realization

"I could have been really hurt y'know" he scoldes, "You could have killed me, hmm what if that happened then you would be really sad and have to speak at my funeral! Then I would come back and haunt your ass!" He curses

"Ehh, if you died that would mean I did it purpously because I'm a great flyer. So that would mean I'd be a murder and obviously you were getting on my nerves so I would see no point in coming to your funeral." I sass back putting my hands on my hips.

"With that being said I believe you are getting on my nerves," I say flying back up

"No Raine wait! I'll do anything! He yells back up swimming toward the shallow part

"Anything huh?" I question and he nods furiously, "Alright then you have to buy me a whole new candy stash and let me buy you one that you HAVE to eat!" I declare

"But-" he begins to say but after seeing my face he agrees. Then in a blink of an eye I grab him again before hauling him back up to the top.
