Leather Jackets Chapter 3

2:30pm

Jimin checked his hair, he adjusted his leather jacket, he checked his phone

Hoseok: Hey man when you coming over

Jimin: ahh I'm so sry caught in traffic

Hoseok: Its all good

Jimin bolted down stairs. "Bye Dad I'll see you later tell other Dad I say bye!" He shouted over his shoulder. A faint "Ok" was heard from the kitchen. Soekjin was always in the kitchen- and Namjoon, well, he was banned from the kitchen for safety reasons.

Jimin actually liked having two father figures. Although many people liked to think of Soekjin as the mother that angered Jimin because he knew how it made his dad uncomfortable.

But Jimin has other things to worry about right now.

Starting the car so many thoughts crossed Jimins mind.
what if I see yoongi on the way
what if I don't see yoongi at all today
wait is yoongi even gay?
he dated Lisa so there's a chance he's pan or bi
has he answered my text?

Jimin looked down at his phone but still no response. Shit he must look so desperate.

Jimin again glanced at his phone in hopes that it was Yoongi but this time his heart stopped.

But it's not Yoongi.

Hoseok: Hey Im so sorry for the change of plans but Yoongi is in the hospital and I really have to go see him. Maybe we can meet up another time?

Cars honk and Jimin looks up- shit your driving! Ugh how can Jimin be so stupid?! All he's doing is just proving that Asians are bad drivers. He swerved into another lane so that he can turn right to the hospital. Cars honk and people are yelling but at this point he doesn't give two shits-

Yoongi is at the hospital.

Jimins mind was full of emotions and questions, his head was spinning yet completely blank at the same time. Finally he responds.

Jimin: what happened?!

He waited for his phone to buzz while turning left. The hospital was less than a mile away since Jimin was speeding.

Hoseok: How close were you to Yoongi

What the fuck. Is all Jimin can think. What kind of question is that? "were", PAST TENSE. Jimin feels his blood coursing through his veins.

Jimin: idk pretty close
Jimin: why?
Jimin: what happened?!

Jimin waits a few seconds, then he's in the parking lot of the hospital.

Jimin: Hoseok?!!?!?!

Jimin storms into the hospital lobby, sweat evident on his face.

Jimin: Which room is it?!
Jimin:Is everything ok?!
Jimin: wtf is going on!?

Everyone in the lobby looks uneasy. He realizes that there are so many people in the hospital that are hurt- some even dying. It's not just Yoongi in there.

Taehyung and Jungkook were already there. Sitting in chairs waiting just like everyone else.

"You guys didn't tell me?!" Jimin hissed at them.

"Jimin we found out less than 5 minutes ago" Taehyung responded.

"What is going on?"

Taehyung and Jungkook look at each other and Taehyung responded for both of them "we don't know".

"What?!" Jimin exhales "how did you know?"

"Hoseok texted us"

"Oh ok"

Jimin breaths for a few seconds trying to be calm.

"Can we go see him?" Jimins asked with so much hope in his voice it hurt.

"No," Taehyung responded "they're only letting family visit him,"

Jungkook and Taehyung exchanged a glance before Taehyung continued "but none of his family wanted to come"

Taehyung just looked down, unable to keep going so Jungkook continued for him.

"Hoseok is the only one who knows what happened and he's the only one who's allowed to see him for now"

Jimin finally sits down in the hospital chairs next to them. His vision blurred as tears threaten his eyes. "What could possibly be so bad that no one can see him?"

Jimin didn't want an answer to his question, and he didn't get one.

They just sit in silence for what feels like eternity.

Jimin watched family's enter the hospital and leave. Sometimes everyone seemed ok and sometimes it looked like the world had ended was painted all over their faces. When Namjoon and Soekjin finally got the message they came to the hospital sitting down next to Jimin.

He doesn't say anything to them. He wasn't being rude, he just has nothing to say.

Jimin's parents share some brief conversation with Taehyung and Jungkook but Jimin didn't hear it.

He wasn't even aware of it.

It had been hours and Jimin hadn't said a word. It felt like he hadn't taken a breath or blinked either. Jimin was frozen in time.

The hospital lobby is set around 70° yet it felt ice cold against Jimin's skin.

Soekjin went to talk to the person at the desk for details but all he found out was that Yoongi will have to stay at the hospital overnight.

Namjoon tried to convince Jimin to go home with him but Jimin didn't even hear him so Soekjin and Namjoon decided to just leave since there was nothing they could do anyway.

Jungkook and Taehyung fell asleep in the chairs holding hands but Jimin stayed wide awake.

Too many hours have passed to count.

12:37am

Finally Hoseok walked into the lobby.

Jimin bolted up so fast that he got dizzy and almost fell down.

"Hey" said Hoseok in a hushed voice "sit down".

Jimin examined Hoseoks face.

It was so pale it almost looks green.

Jimin frantically tried to read his face figuring out what happened.

Hoseok did not look ok.
