November 26, 20-

It was Friday, the day before what I believe was going to be a life changer for everyone.

...

[Before I can explain what happened earlier today, I have to explain some things first. Freddy's ex-girlfriend Tori was my neighbor, and she was part of the school's Colorguard. She usually got home before me, and some days, especially on Fridays, she would practice her choreography out on her front lawn. Sometimes I stayed to watch because I thought it was cool. It also allowed me to talk to her more and kind of establish a small friendship with her as well. I never thought much of liking her as she was Freddy's girl and I never had a need for a romantic companion, and because of it I only stood friends with her, that was until this Friday happened.]

I passed by Tori's house and she is practicing like she normally does, and as both of my parents were working late today anyway, I walked by and greeted her.

"Hey, Tori. See you're practicing again."

"Yeah, I just got to work on some choreography I need to clean before tomorrow's competition."

"Oh, should I leave you be then? I don't want to be a distraction."

"No, it's okay. You can stay if you want. Actually, the company is nice. Besides, maybe you can give me your opinion on some of the things I have to do. Here let me try something I've been practicing before you got here. Can you just watch and give me your honest opinion?"

"Uh, yeah, sure. I guess. Although, I don't anything about Colorguard so I don't know how accurate my opinion will be, e-especially when all I have to work with knowledge-wise is just that your pretty colored flag is suppose to be wiggling all over the place." I felt that I overdid that explanation, but I wanted to make sure she understood.

"Haha, it's okay. Here, what do you think of this?"

She began to run a few yards forward, twisting her blue-colored flag in circular rotations that most people would not be to do without hurting themselves. She tossed it in the air about 30 feet from the ground and caught it behind her with her left hand and positioned it so that she could roll on the floor and leap up to land on the ground and stab the butt of the flagpole into the dirt in front of her. It blew me away completely.

"Oh wow, that was absolutely amazing! I forget how crazy talented you are sometimes. You're probably better at your art than mine, my art being writing of course." I wasn't lying, her talent at the art of the activity was truly something. It was hard to determine if she was better at her art than Fred was at his.

"Thanks, Derek. You know, Fred was never really all that impressed when I tried to show him that. All he told me was, 'okay, good job', and that was it. I don't think he understands the art behind Colorguard the same way I do." This leads me to a curious question to ask.

"Is that why you broke up with him?"

"Well, not really. Or maybe? I don't know uh, hang on let me track my thoughts again. Okay, you see, when I agreed to date him I was promised all these things, won't really go into all of them, but obviously, he wasn't a man of his word. I could not trust him anymore. He didn't seem the same way he always was before it all. It was especially noticeable after the art show," I knew something was off after Freddy's painting broke. This was saying a lot. "I guess you can't always trust men. At least with you, you haven't done anything wrong to me. So for now, you are one of the few men who still have my trust."

"Haha, thank I guess. Uh, anyways, do you have any other choreography you have to show off to me?" I kind of said that just to transition into something less awkward for me, but something didn't feel right when I said that.
