WARNING!!: ATTEMPTED SUICIDE
Quinn Wolfhart. A seemingly normal girl. She was genuinely happy with everything. Amazing friends who she considered family, a wonderful boyfriend. Little did she know, things would come crashing down and almost end entirely for her.
You see, in her world, when someone is heartbroken or they don't return the love in a relationship they turn grey. When someone no longer returns the love, they slowly turn grey. Some go drastically slow because they don't want their significant to get hurt, but withholding the information just ends up hurting them more.
But when someone becomes heartbroken, they instantly turn grey. And despite their blandness, they stand out against the vibrant colors of everyone else.
Now. Back to our story. Rouge Cheney and Quinn Wolfhart were in a happy relationship together. Or so everyone thought. Even Quinn was convinced. No it wasn't abusive or anything like that. Rouge was too nice for it to ever come to that. No, it wasn't that.
Rouge wasn't returning his feelings for Quinn. And it's not like he wanted to do this. He felt like he had to. He didn't feel like he was worthy enough to love her so he didn't. He waited. Waited for her to notice his blandness.
You are probably wondering why he thinks this way. Well, here's why. Unfortunately, Rouge has depression. He takes blue pills to try and help. Not only that, but Rouge smokes quite a lot. Quinn doesn't like it, but normally doesn't say anything about it since it's his choice.
Now for Quinn. The poor girl, sadly, has bad anxiety. Rouge has had to help her through several random panic attacks. She also takes pills, which are blue, to try and help her. They sometimes assist in keeping it under control, but not very often.
Now. On with the story. Rouge was in one of his depressive episodes. Not only that, but he was planning to make Quinn see his greyness and realize what was happening. He was become more and more dull every single day. She may have begun to notice, but probably refuses to believe it and is tricking her eyes.
[Quinn's POV]
I could tell something wasn't right with Rouge. Maybe his medication wasn't working. Or maybe he'd stopped taking it even though I told him he needs to. Now is not the time to freak out, Q. I think to myself. Currently I was staying at Rouge's apartment even though I had my own.
He was sitting against the wall quietly, smoking indoors which I hated. I sat next to him as he took a draw from his cigarette and slowly let out a puff of smoke.
"Hey Quinn." He said softly without even looking at me or flinching at my approach.
"Hey." I replied. I really didn't want to pry, but I was worried. Really worried. "Something seems to be bugging you. You alright?" I asked as I brushed a strand of purple hair from my face.
"It's just...Sting hasn't bothered to text or call me in almost a month now." Rouge said softly.
I was honestly relieved. Rouge just missed his little brother. Well, little brother by nature. Rouge didn't have any family, so a lot of his friends filled in those gaps. "Your little brother never tells you but he loves you so." I tried to reassure him.
"Minerva has stopped smiling. I'm sure you've noticed it as well, Quinn." He said, a glint of sadness flashing across the ruby surface of his eyes.
"You said your mother only smiled on her tv show." I stated. He didn't bother to respond to this as he took another draw of his cigarette. "You're only happy when your sorry head is filled with dope." I added, looking straight forward.
