Writing Promt: Person A is a teenager and it's the last day of summer break. This is especially painful for them because, over the course of those summer months, they fell in love for the first time and that person, Person B is moving away (and breaking up with Person A). Write the scene where they say goodbye....
[Sting's POV]
These past few months have been some of the best of my life. Not only was I able to spend a lot of time with my friends, but I was able to meet someone. The minute I met him, I fell in love. Maybe it was his kindness, maybe it was his smile. Or, maybe it was when I looked into his ruby colored eyes.
I'm unsure. All I know is that I fell madly in love with him.
It started out simple. I wanted to become friends with him first, so we hung out a bit. Next, we started hanging out more and more. And I fell in love more and more everyday. Then, I finally got up the courage to tell him my feelings. And he reciprocated those feelings. And that's how I got together with Rouge.
But now, things were changing. They were changing all too fast and I wanted to just pause time. My world was cracking like glass and it felt like it was about to shatter.
Two weeks before summer vacation was over, Rouge wanted to meet up at the park we'd first met at. I was more than happy to do so, so I went and waited for him.
After about five minutes, he came up behind me and scared me. He's as quiet as a shadow would be, whereas I'm as loud as light would be if it made sound. What a combination.
"Rouge! Don't scare me like that!" I exclaimed, causing him to laugh a little bit.
"I can't help the fact that you scare easily." He said and I stuck my tongue out at him. He sat down next to me on the bench and I leaned onto his shoulder. He laid his head on mine and we just sat there for a while. A blissful silence, except it wasn't entirely silent. A couple kids were running around and screaming their heads off, but we didn't mind.
"So, what did you want to talk about?" I asked. I knew that since he was the one who had suggested going somewhere other than my house, he wanted to talk about something.
"Well, it's something kind of important." He said softly. I sat up and faced him, taking his hand in my own. I smiled at him, giving him a signal to continue. He smiled back at me and took a deep breath. "This is really difficult to say, but...I'm moving away. Really far away. I'm moving to New York City." He looked at me sadly as he spoke.
I just stared at him. New York City? Right now, we lived in San Francisco. That was all the way across the country. "Y-you're kidding me, right?" I asked him in a shaky voice.
"I'm afraid not, Sting. I wish I was. I really don't want to leave, but my mom got a good job offer in New York. You know that she's a drama director." He said. I only nodded and looked away. "Also, I don't think it'll be good for either of us if we're in a long distance relationship. I think we should break up before I leave." He added.
"Yeah. I understand. When do you leave?" I asked.
"Last day of vacation. Before you start your Junior year." He said.
"Can...can we at least be together until your last day?" I asked him, my voice really shaky.
"Yeah. I don't want to let go just yet." He said, hugging me tightly. I hugged back just as tightly, hiding my face away in his neck. "I love you so much, Sting." He mumbled as he played with my hair.
"I love you too, Rouge." I muttered. I didn't want this to end ever.
2 Weeks Later...
