It was 6:55. My Auracell's alarm was going off on full blast and it was driving me crazy. I could tell it was annoying Chad as well because he screamed, "Shut. That. Off. Now!" I rolled over and slammed my hand on my Auracell until the alarm stopped. With my eyes closed, I opened my dresser drawer and pulled a shirt, jeans, and my dog tag out. I took off my pyjama bottoms and struggled to put on jeans. I threw on a shirt and pulled on some socks, and as Jojo and Nick started getting dressed I was tying my shoes. I looked over at Chad as I was putting on my armour and he was still lying in bed. I walked over to him and shook him to try to get him up.

He started grunting and rolled over. I told him we had to go eat breakfast and he replied, "If the sun's not up, I shouldn't be." He was rolled up in a ball with his blanket, so I pulled the edge of it and he fell off his bed. He stood up and groaned as he started getting dressed. We all made our beds except Chad, who made Nick make his bed for him. Then I picked up my backpack and we all threw important things in it. We packed gems, bullets, a ton of food and water, and I put my Master Log in it. I put on the backpack and could barely stand up at first.

As we walked down to the cafeteria I got used to the weight of the bag. We ordered our food and sat down at our usual table. I put the bag beside me and asked, "Why do I have to carry the bag? Chad's the strongest, he could carry it no problem!" Chad was quick to answer me so no one else could. "Because you're the smartest, the most trustworthy, and you won't throw away our supplies like crazy." I didn't know whether to be mad at Chad for throwing me under the bus to not have to carry the bag, or to be proud with how quickly he made up that clever excuse.

We ate and reviewed our plan. We were sure that we had thought of everything that could happen. We were all confident that everything was accounted for, yet in the back of my mind I felt as if we were forgetting something. I didn't know what it was, so I didn't bring it up. I was amazed by how fast time went by when I saw that it was already past eight. We threw out our garbage and I picked up the bag. We walked out of the building and started running towards Capraint's capital. It was roughly an hour and a half walk from our school, so now we had to run the whole way there to not be late.

We had been running for roughly half an hour when we had reached the train station for the X. S. Express. This train was the most posh and famous train to exist. The train was incredibly fast and everything you could list about the train was amazing. Everything besides the cost that is. One ticket was extremely expensive and many people couldn't afford it, including myself. I only heard rumours about how amazing the train was.

The train was docked in the station and I had never seen it before, so as we ran by I was staring at it in awe. That's when I bumped into someone and we both fell. I hit my head off the ground and rubbed it as I stood up. I tried to apologise as fast as I could, "I'm really sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going and-" It was a brown haired girl. She opened her eyes and looked up at me. She had brown eyes, was wearing a black crop top with an open red button-up t-shirt, black tights, and dark brown boots.

She was wearing a necklace that had a pink gem in the shape of a heart on it. Her weapon, a rapier which appeared to be made of Strontain, was lying beside her. It had too many different gems to count on it. She awkwardly said, "Hello...? Are you...okay?" I realised I had just been staring at her. I helped her up and replied, "I, uh, yeah I'm fine. Are you okay?" She nodded.

I felt even more embarrassed now then I did before. "I'm really sorry, I was just looking at the uh...train..." I really wanted to just stop talking, but for some reason I couldn't. "My name's Devon." I didn't want to tell her I was a Mancini from Capraint, so I just stuck out my hand for a handshake.

She shook my hand and said, "My name's Karlee." Her voice was quiet and soft. She looked like she was 5'4". Chad came back to me and tapped me on the shoulder. "Yo, we gotta go, you can talk to her after." For some reason I wanted to keep talking to her, but he was right. We ran towards Capraint capital and she called out to us, but I couldn't hear her. Once we reached the tower it was ten minutes until nine. A guard greeted us at the front gates and scanned our Auracell's. He let us in and we walked through the front doors. The lady at the front desk scanned our Auracell's as well and pointed us in the direction of the teleporters. She welcomed Jojo with a smile and turned the teleporters on.
