Game 3

Bea's not in the mood right now to sulk in her room so she decided to convince herself that going to the mall is the best choice to kill some time.

She texted her friends but unfortunately, they all have something important to do.

"Ouch"

Something bumped her knees and she looked down.

"Oh hi little guy," she greeted and lowered herself to level the kid, "are you hurt?"

The kid just shook his head.

"You're legs are soooooo long," he said with amusement in his eyes.

Bea chuckled at ginulo ang buhok nito.

"Your legs will be like mine when you grow up. How old are you?" she asked all smiles.

"I'm three but turning four next week," he answered and every number he utters, he shows his cute little fingers.

"Oh. Who's with you?", she asked

"Mommy," tapos luminga linga siya sa paligid, "I can't find her." dugtong pa nito.

"Ahh, see. Let's go find your mommy.", she held his hand and started to walk.

Halos lahat ng makasalubong ni Bea ay nakatingin sa kanya at sa bata. Maybe they thought that this tall woman holding hands with this tiny boy looked so cute.

Bea just shrugged. She doesn't want this kind of attention, like she's just walking and people keep staring at her.

"Where was the last time you saw your mom?"

"Groceries,"he looked up to see Bea," But I saw the moving stairs so I rode it. And it was awesome!"

Bea chuckled. "But you know, it's not right to go somewhere without your mom. She'll be worried, big time. What's your name by the way?"

"Eyos po. Ikaw?"

"I'm ate Bea. Do you want to grab some ice cream before we go see your mom?"

"Really?! Can I choose a flavor?"

"Yes, of course. Whatever you want. It's my treat. And you know, I'm kinda bored earlier and nowhere to go so this is my way of saying thank you because I had company through you." she genuinely smiled.

The kid smiled back and run where the ice cream is.

"I want that one!" Eyos exclaimed with the only one left and so giddy to eat it already.

Bea chuckled and was about to grab it when someone got it first.

"Hoy!"

Nakatalikod na yung lalaki at napahinto nang marinig ang pagtawag ng kung sino man iyon.

Dahan dahang lumingon ang una at tinuro ang sarili.

"Yes, you!" sigaw ni Bea.

"Me?", he smirked. "What about me?"

"Give that ice cream to me."

"Why would I?"

"Because I said so."

"Oh, Miss-whoever-I-don't-give-a-damn. I got it first. So if you'll excuse me."

Nag smirk ito, tumalikod, at akmang hahakbang na ng bigla siyang hinila ni Bea at kinuha ang tub ng ice cream.

"I saw it first.", tumalikod ito agad at hinawakan sa kamay si Eyos. "Come on, baby. Let's go to the counter. Run!"

Tumakbo sila pareho. Nung napansin ni Bea na humahabol si Thirdy, binuhat niya ang bata at mabilis na pumunta sa counter.

Swerte naman ni Bea na walang pila sa counter at na punch agad.

Hawak na ni Eyos ang supot ng ice cream niya ng bigla niyang tinawag si Thirdy.

"Turty!"

Hinihingal si Thirdy habang tinitignan ng masama si Eyos.

"My name is Thirdy, not Turty." sagot nito at sinamaan siya ng tingin ni Bea.

"Yes you are. You are Turty. Kuya Turty kasi you're so mabagal like turtle." sabi naman ni Eyos at tumawa. Tumawa rin si Bea at nakipag high five pa rito.

"What the f-"

"Subukan mong ituloy ang sasabihin mo at ipapakain ko sa'yo sapatos ko." singit ni Bea

Itinaas ni Thirdy ang dalawang kamay na tanda ng pagsuko.

"Okay, okay."

"Good."sagot ni Bea at bumaling sa bata, "let's go find your Mom."

Palabas na sila Bea sa groceries para sana hanapin na yung mommy ni Eyos when Thirdy shouted.

"See you around the campus! The game will officially start there!"
