Chapter 4

as i pulled into my driveway my phone started to chime with text messages from my girlfriend

(text conversation)
(b/f) hey girlie wanna go out tomorrow night?
(y) umm idk i work till 8 and i have been getting heebie-jeebies a lot lately..
(b/f) oh come on that's why you need to go out loosen up a bit maybe find a cutie to take home lol
(y) you aren't gonna let me say no are you lol
(b/f) nope lmao
(y) alright alright i will go just promise me we will take a cab there
(b/f) yea yea :P
(end texts)

sigh 'maybe going out would help..' with that in mind i was unlocking my door and stepped into my darkened home locked the door and flipped the light on it flickered 'huh it's never done that before maybe it's about to go out' it then stopped and stayed lit... i walked into the kitchen and put my keys on the counter 'guess i could watch something before bed' i grabbed a bag of popcorn tossed it into the microwave and set the timer soon i herd the pops. turned on the tv and went to my Hulu app turning on (movie, anime, or tv show) soon i heard beeping 'yay popcorn' grabbed a bowl full and sat back down.

i was walking through a snowy forest but somehow i wasn't bothered by the cold... the snow falling around me made me at peace, the cloud covered sky turned the world into hues of gray i heard the crunching under my feet i didn't know where i was or where i was going but i just kept walking after a while the world seemed to turn darker grays i was still in a densely wooded forest and it seemed the sun was setting.... 'i need to get out of here' .... 'but i don't know where i am'.....

the sun was almost completely set now and it was hard to see, i tripped over something and fell face first into the snow. my clothes absorbing the chilly dampness of the snow as it melted against my warmth. i got up slowly as it seems that was all that was needed to trigger the cold setting in my body i kept moving the air in my lungs burning from the frigid weather. 'why am i here? what is this place?' i stopped at a tree placing my hand on it to support myself. my breath was ragged but inside i felt calm until i heard footsteps behind me.

my blood ran like ice through my veins and i took off running as fast as i could trying to ignore the burning in my lungs with every breath. 'what is this? what the hell is going on?' i heard a chuckle it was deep and... alluring..? but still i ran my legs begging me to stop my body fighting my every step. "𝚠𝔥𝔞𝔱'𝔰 𝚠𝔯𝔬𝔫𝔤 𝔰𝚠𝔢𝔢𝔱𝔥𝔢𝔞𝔯𝔱..?" the voice sounded familiar ... my body slowed down against my command to run ... 'no no no run dammit i have to get out of here' "𝔡𝔬𝔫'𝔱 𝚠𝔬𝔯𝔯𝒚 𝔰𝚠𝔢𝔢𝔱𝔥𝔢𝔞𝔯𝔱 𝔦 𝚠𝔬𝔫'𝔱 𝔥𝔲𝔯𝔱 𝒚𝔬𝔲......𝔪𝔲𝔠𝔥" the deep voice laughed and my body turned to face it i closed my eyes terrified as to what i might see ... he placed both his hands on my shoulders

"𝔬𝔥 𝚠𝔢 𝔞𝔯𝔢 𝔤𝔬𝔫𝔫𝔞 𝔥𝔞𝒗𝔢 𝔰𝔬 𝔪𝔲𝔠𝔥 𝔣𝔲𝔫" his breath fanned my face, i opened my eyes slowly and saw nothing but blackness and two glowing red eyes a few inches above my own i felt the burning in my lungs growing... i was hyperventilating i heard ringing in my ears and creaking that sounded like an old wooden floor. i was so terrified i couldn't move i just screamed i heard screaming but it sounded far away till i realised it was my own and i jolted awake in a cold sweat....

"what the hell" my hand immediately went to my chest and i felt my heart pounding underneath it... i looked up my tv was static 'i must've fallen asleep watching Hulu...' i grabbed the remote and hit power .. nothing.. 'batteries must be dead' i went into the kitchen grabbing the batteries. i pulled out the old ones but just before i put the other ones in something fell in my living room.. i walked over and saw the bowl of popcorn kernels was on the floor now..... and the tv was off

'okay...whatever' i turned on the light to the living room and was cleaning up the kernels after i was done i finished my endeavor with the batteries and looked at the time... 3:15 am i rolled my eyes and headed to bed telling myself that i watch too many horror flicks.
