CHAPTER 2: The Surprise

So after that long walk, Beakhyun and I finally arrived at the place where he insisted me to go. And right after I saw the place, I stan for a second.

"W-what is this? Where are we bro?" I asked curiously with a mix of amazement in my face.

"Surprise! " Beakhyun said with a smile.

"Woa! . . . This place is incredibly beautiful!" I shouted loudly as it echoed around the place.

Beakhyun took me in this high part of the forest. Where here, its my first time to see those things in my whole life. The beautiful green grasses swaying as the wind blows, a lot of different wild flowers are surrounding the place, the clouds here are too low that makes the place cold and pleasant. The trees, the singing birds, the atmosphere here, they are all collide with harmony that makes this place perfectly beautiful.

"Bro how do you know this place? It's amazingly beautiful!" I asked while still being amazed with the place.

He answered me and said "I just found this place recently when we we're hunting last time and I lost remember?"

"Oh yeah, I remember it. That's the time when you and I was chasing a deer and then you suddenly lost out of nowhere isn't it? Haha" I answered with a laugh.

"Yeah that's it. By the way did you like it? I mean the place?" he asked.

"Of course bro, I love this place so much!" I answered immediately while smiling at him.

Then he stared at me for a second and said "Happy 25th birthday Xiumin!"

Upon hearing this words from him I stan again and shock. I didn't expect him to say such thing. I didn't expect that he can remember my birthday.

"Oh. . .thanks bro. . . I didn't expect you to say that." I responded

"Come on bro, I'm your best friend anyway right?" He said.

"haha your right bro. Thank you again."

"No need to thank me bro. You are like a real brother to me now. So it's just a necessary thing to do. " he said while tapping my left shoulder.

After that, he grab my hand and we run towards the tree in the middle.

"Come on, I still have one surprise for you here" he said while dragging me towards the tree.

"okay sure, what is it this time bro? You have lot of surprises huh. " I said excitedly.

"This is your day bro, so you must enjoy it. Come on just follow me." he insisted.

Then, when we arrived there, I see a two loaves of bread, a two steamed fish and a banana fruit placed under the tree.

"Woah, what a feast bro. Finally!" I said hungrily.

"What are you waiting for? Just grab on" he commanded.

"Yum yum yum. Okay lets eat!"

After we eat, we laid down on to the green grass and talk for a while.

"*sigh*" I sighed.

"Oh what a sigh bro, is there any problem?" Beakhyun asked curiously.

"Um. . . Nothing bro, I just wondering about something." I said seriously while looking at the blue sky.

Beakhyun looked at me with curiosity and started to asked "What are you wondering bro?"

"Nothing special bro, just-just don't mind it."

"Oh come on Xiumin, I know you. I know that there's something bothering you isn't it? You can share it with me if you want."

"*sigh*" I looked at him and said "I'm wondering about the game."

"The game? You mean the upcoming annual survival game here in Exoria?" He asked again.

" Yeah, your right. I'm wondering, what if my name will be chosen and become one of this years Norath representative in the game?" I explained.

"What? Haha. Then I will follow you if that's the case though. He smirked.

"What the hell bro. Don't risk your life for me. Your family needs you. You know that right?" I said immediately.

"Xiumin you are now one of my family. You are my brother now. So whenever you need help, I'll be there. Always remember that okay?" He said.

"But-"

"Just don't mind it bro. It will not be happen." he interrupted.

"O-okay" I said silently while looking back at the beautiful blue sky above.

But, I still didn't stop wondering about it. Because knowing the fact that Beakhyun and I are now 25 years old, so there is a possibility that either one of us will be picked tomorrow and become the representative of Norath.

I don't want him to be one of the representative because I know that winning the game is really hard. And I don't want to loose him, anyone of his family- my family.

This year, it will be the 20th anniversary of the great war. So many people are expecting a lot from this annual survival game of Exoria. Many are eager to risk their lives in order to commit the prize. Especially the capital of Ere who are always very competitive to win this game. They always make it to the top and it is already proven because they already have 7 wins up to date. Followed by the capital of Valdemar who already has 4 wins, despite of being the 3rd rank capital, Valdemar always strive to be on the top. Next is the capital of Argus and Shiran who won 3 times already. While the capital of Lyrah and Norath already has 2 and 1 win respectively.

That's why I'm so nervous if one of us will be picked because the chances for Norath in winning this game is like asking for a miracle to happen.

But, it would be better if I'm the one who will be chosen instead of Beakhyun. Because I do have a purpose in winning the game, that is to give Beakhyun and his family a good and better life in the Grand Capitol, and most importantly is to have revenge for my parents injustice death from Red Forces.

After that, I didn't realize that we fell asleep. Then, when we woke up it's afternoon already. So Beakhyun and I decided to go home then.

And when we arrived at the village. . .
