Will You Marry Me?

Oh the question that girls dream to hear. Yes as little princesses we watch Disney movies and what is the moral of almost every movie? The prince will find the princess and they will be married to live happily ever after. Of course they go through some hurdles like ugly villains, poisoned apples, spells that turn you into a beast, living far far (yes too far) away from each other, not being able to remember how the other person looks in casual clothing and using a glass slipper to find the love of your life. But of course, in about an hour's time of fighting, singing, standing up for what your heart believes in - they are together to share forever.

Snap. Snap. Yes let's snap back to reality now. All that is just animated wonderfulness, which is far different from our world that has no fairy godmothers, talking mirrors or magic lamps. Not every girl is a princess (although I strongly believe every girl is an uncrowned one) with a dozen maids to take care of her and a dozen soldiers to protect her.

In our world things are a little more complicated. Yes, it is more complicated than having to slay a Jabberwocky, save yourself from an evil stepmother (who is a witch in disguise), kissing a frog to make him human and being an ogre by night. See in our world, the prince has to go to college so he can make something of himself, and in some cases he has to get a job to pay tuition and work out so he can muscle up. Whereas the princess is also going to college, probably working, wondering what to wear and fighting battles with zits and bad hair days.

And as you grow older, you find boys giving you a second look, asking around for your name, trying to get your attention and if it is smooth sailing - asking you to marry them (it works the other way around just as well). Unlike movies, it is not going to be just one guy proposing and that first guy isn't always the right one. If you are in places like India - you will have plenty of proposals coming your way. You will meet archaeologists like Ross, marines like John Tyree, widowers like Rahul Malhotra, divorced doctors like Derek Shepherd and maybe even an ex-con that resembles Neal Caffrey.

So do NOT be disheartened when a proposal doesn't work out. There are plenty of fish in the sea and you deserve the one that will make you the happiest. Someone that's been divinely handcrafted for you. Stay hopeful, stay sweet and don't give up or compromise. Be patient, be you and pray - your prince charming is sure to come your way.
