The old city, ruins. Debris and holes in every building, even on the very ground. In front of a building at a clearing are Ogretails eating the corpse of a Vajra. You can hear the disgusting noises as they tear and chew on the body of one of their kind. With more Ogretails coming to join in the fare.
Large footsteps came towards the eating Ogretails, loud and shaking the ground yet the Ogretails had paid no mind and kept eating. It was their mistake.
They only looked up the moment another Vajra came and pounced at them. It was a quick end for the poor beasts. The Vajra then started to devour the Ogretails that it slaughtered. Like it wanted to avenge his fallen fellow Vajra.
In a nearby building in the same area, were three people hiding. Each holding a large weapon that you wouldn't be able to carry at all, much less wield. But these people are carrying it pretty easily, especially with one of them holding a large buster blade that looked like a dark saw. It is wielded by a male. Another male of the group is seen with a large great sword that was in a menacing blood red color. And did I mention it looked like a really large chainsaw? Now I did.
The last member of the group, which was a woman, was holding a large gun that had a really long neck, but looked pretty durable. It was in whites and greys and looked heavy.
Both the leader and the buster blade wielder were peeking from the sides of the entrance of the building they were hiding in. Spying towards the feasting lion-like beast. They took a moment before the guy with the red chainsaw came forward, followed by the buster blade wielding male. Both dashed towards said Vajra. The female showed and pointed her weapon to the monster as it roars towards them.
It wasn't even a fair fight. A large lion-like monster that can use electricity against three small humans with large weapons. At least, it wasn't really fair for the Aragami. What did the beast expected anyway? It versus three battle veterans? Better lay down on the ground and dissolve I guess.
The way the three people took down a beast that large looked like an easy task. It looked like so, evident to the lack of injuries and not even looking tired.
All three stood around the corpse of the Vajra. The buster blade guy and the gun woman on the look out as the chainsaw wielding man stepped towards the dead Aragami.
Suddenly, when the man raised his blade, came out what looked like large monstrous black jaws that covered the whole blade itself. The group didn't even faze at all when the man just placed and sent the jaws to the corpse. Like it was something you could see everyday.
Strangely, right above where the hilt of the blade is, what looked like a core glowed in a yellow light. It seemed to please the man since he whistled when he saw that.
"Well would you lookit' that, a rare one!" The man told the others while examining the glow. Grass-green eyes smiling at it.
"It's strong. And to the victor goes the spoils." The woman with the large gun resting on her shoulder approached the man. A gloved hand resting on her hip as she walked.
"Old man Sakaki's gonna have a fit when he sees this." Snorted the man.
The woman gave a small soft snort back. "Heh. I would like to see some reinforcements out here."
"If we're done here, let's call for exfil. I'm starved." The group went and started walking away. "Speaking of, what're they serving today?"
"Admittedly I wasn't paying a lot of attention at the last supply meeting." Replied the man. His face looked like he is trying to remember something before he perked up.
"Wait! I just remembered. It's some new engineered corn or something."
The woman's face turned into a frown. More likely in grimace. "Ugh. You mean that same overgrown corn-on-a-cob fiasco? It's so hard to chew!" She whined.
