Chapter 14: Run Away

Her hair drained of it'ss brown color to it's original silk white, her skin becoming pale again and her green eyes turning grey once more. She sat at the bank of the river looking at herself and just thinking. Gosh. That was the girl everyone saw. That was the pestimistic, rude, pretty girl everyone saw. But now here I am the boring, realistic, bland looking girl I and Light have always seen. "Azure?" IShe turned around looking at Light as he gave her a soft look. He sat next to her and looked into the water as well. "Thanks for...trying." He whispered and she knew exactly what he was talking about. "How long ago?" She asked her voice cracking as tears threatened her eyes. It was silent for a minute as he dipped his bare feet into the river. "About a week after your last visit. He sent some guys in and he took all the adults first. He left the teens and children. We knew what happened but we didn't want to say anything. When it came turn for the children me and Ken mourned for days. They split the kills up for7 days a time. Through that we made an escape plan. While we were doing our escape Oruchimaru and his little minion Kabuto attacked us. We both fleed but...Ken, he was so hurt he died just five hours after we got away."

Azure's POV:

Ken wasn't someone I associated much with being one of Light's friends but, no one was heard to be sweeter than him. He had a way of carrying his self that mad everyone love him. It was weird. I had only really talked to him a couple times before but when he was in the imprisonment of Oruchimaru his usual glowing face was dull, dirty and filled with sadness. Many people in there had changed from his harsh conditions. "Don't blame it on yourself Azure, he was gonna exterminate us anyways. He was blackmailing you and for al those years...he was just fooling you." He whispered. "How long were you wondering?" I asked. "Years. I've meet up with him so many times along the way but have been blessed so many times to get away." He said turning to me. Tears dripped off my chin as I looked down at the floor. "Azure...Please don't cry." He whispered pulling me into a small hug.

"I'm not crying. I just got a...a..speck of dirt or a rock stuck in my eyes." I said before hearing a soft chuckle next to me. "A rock?" He asked laughing while wipping a few tears. "Ugh yeah." I said before giggling a little. "Still weird little Azure." He said punching my arm a little as we giggled.

 No POV: 

She crept up to the opened door peering ever so slightly inside. There was blood all over the floor, a bodies everywhere, it was complete madness. Her wimpers filled the room as she walked in. "I-Is anyone here?" She whispered trying to manuver through the bodies and blood before seeing something, or rather someone that caught her eye. "Sasuke!" Her piercing screams filled the whole building until a hand smacked over her mouth and the man pulled her to his chest. "Nice to see you again. Sakura."

Azure's POV:

I sighed watching as Light slept next to me. He was still pretty beat up from whatever he encountered. I stood up and walked outside into the rain going over to the river not too far. I am so tired of this. Tired of the killing, tired of the using, tired of the hissing and the pain sent through out my body I couldn't stand it anymore. I took in a deep breath closing my eyes and looking up to the sky. "So tired..." I whispered.

 "Of what?" I jumped slightly turning around quickly to see Garaa standing behind me. "You didn't get very far today." I took a hard gulp before responding again. "What are you doing here?" I asked in a hushed tone. "The last time I saw you you were so confident. What happened?" He asked. "Life happened. Why? Do you want to kill me? Or do you finally have a joking side?" I smiled lightly at him and he seemed to have scoffed. He didn't say anything much more, he just stared at me. "Let's just say I started something I couldn't finish." I whispered changing back to being a little serious.

"What?" His voice was deep and cold. "Something. Why does it matter to you? Are all of our talks going to be so rude and horrid? The first one you attempted to kill me and this one your trying to force answers out of me with that deep growl of yours." He rolled his eyes walking past me sitting down next to the stream. I just watch him for a few second before going over as well and plopping down next to him. "He controls me. He threatens me with something I knew was gone but was so stupid I constantly pushed it to the back of my head hoping it was just a lie.." He didn't say a thing just sitting there looking straight ahead of him. My voice shook, I was showing emotions again. "T-Then when I saw Light I knew it was real. I realised it wasn't a lie. It wasn't anything near a lie. It was completely real. They were gone." I wipped my face but it was pointless since my tears and the rain would just soak it up again. My tears mixed with the rain so I was good with him not knowing I was crying if it wasn't for my godfarsaken shaken voice.

"There was this one mission...I had to kill someone as always but it wasn't just the kill. He had to fall for me, it would crush him even more. It lasted for years. I was fourteen (she's sixteen) and he was seventeen. His name was Desu." A clear image of his face ran through my head. "There was this three year diffrence but I know him since I was just turning eleven. The mission was going perfectly as always. He fell for me and I pretended to love him." I laughed at myself. "Preteneded. I did love him. I loved him as much as a fourteen year old can comprehend it. The night I had to kill him we went into a fun house. It was a little party of some sort and the mirrors where everywhere. He had this smile." I said smiling to myself thinking about it myself. "It lit up a whole room...It was my first time ever kissing a boy there. It was sweet and made me feel something I didn't and don't normally feel anymore. I felt pure glee."

I wipped at my face again my soft cries turning into some what of a sob. "He pulled away and closed his eyes pushing his forehead to my own and whispered these three words. I began crying and he asked what was wrong as the knife I had put in my boot slid out in my hands and I lifted it behind his back. He wipped my tears and hugged me and in the middle of his sentence." I stopped remembering the way he softly spoke to me.

He smiled making my heart beat faster as his face inched closer to my own. Just before I could realised what happened his lips pressed against my own making my heart feel like it popped. Too early for my wanting he pulled away his eyes still closed and pressed his forehead to mine. "I love you." His hushed voice whispered. I pulled my hand up touching my lips before also feeling the single tear that slipped from my eye make it's way down my lips and to my chin. "Azure?" He asked brushing his hand acros my face moving me hair. "What's wrong?" I couldn't help but cry as I gave him a soft smile convincing him they were of happiness. He pulled me into a hug as I raise my foot and grabbed the kitchen knife from inside of it and pulled it up behind his back. My soft cries becoming a light sob. "I couldn't keep my eyes off you the first time I saw you and I'm in lo-" He stopped looking in the mirror that reflected the other showing my knife behind his back. "Azure.."

"That was the last thing he breathed before he went limp in my arms and I ran into the dark of the night to hurt to ever look at him again." I turned to Garaa and gave out an emotionless laugh. "If you were anyone else I'd be in their arms being comforted." He just watched but his eyes were directed somewhere else now. They were on me. "After that I couldn't feel anything anymore. My eyes turned grey and I couldn't change them back, my hair was always white but..." I ran my fingers through my hair looking down at the tired stressed hait it became. I turned to him again seeing him stilling looking at me. I smiled slightly. "You're staring at me."

Closing my eyes I took a deep breath. "You should probably be going back to your...Whatever.." I looked down taking a hard gulp once again. "You can run as much as you want but you won't get far." I looked up to see Garaa gone making me stand up quickly. "It will always be right behind you." He growled into my ear making me turn quickly around. "Sneaking up on you biting.." I turned so hard I could have easily gotten whisplash. "and knawing on every last drop of happiness you have left." That came out deeper, darker, and angrier than the rest. "Stop it." I cried turning around and this time he was standing there. "Just speaking off of experience." He said just above a whispered and before I could say anything he was gone.
