"She was a rule breaker, and he was a coward. Two birds so different, yet so alike. One half with the other, it just seemed right. But others might see it in a different light."
Castelluna Riviera stood at the entrance of Platform 9 3/4, with her dad on one side of her and her mom on the other side. Her mom squeezed her shoulder lightly and nodded her head signaling for her to go forward. She slowly pushed her cart through the brick wall and felt a funky feeling wash over her. She peeled open her eyes and gazed in astonishment at the wonder before her, she was standing in a beautiful platform with a sleek black train that was puffing out smoke in a single stream. Her mom appeared behind her shortly after and together they walked until they were near the train and in a mass of parents saying their final goodbyes to their children. Castelluna gave her mom a weak smile as she was sad she was leaving and sad her father, a muggle, could not enter the platform to say the last goodbyes. She had said goodbye to him at the house, in the car, and right before entering, but she still felt that his absence now was more heartbreaking than she would have anticipated. She looked at her mom once more and gave her another hug.
"Bye mom. Tell Dad goodbye." Castelluna said as a tear slid down her cheek. Her mom embraced her again rubbing circles on her back with her thumb.
"He would have given all he could to be here you know," her mom said. "And remember to write to us. We will respond as quickly as possible. And look, Christmas is closer than you think. We love you, hun. And I know you will have the same great experience as I did when I was here. Just breathe and remember it doesn't matter which house you are sorted into. We will always love you."
Castelluna embraced her mom one more time before they were interrupted by someone clearing their throat and a nasty voice saying,
"Oh Flor, would you and your daughter hurry up. Some of us, are trying to get their children on the train. Go back to your muggle husband, at least you are more accepted in their world than ours."
Castelluna looked up to see a tall man with long blonde hair falling like a waterfall of silver sneering down at her and her mom. His upper lip curled and he tapped his walking stick on the floor in annoyance, meanwhile a small boy with the same blonde hair looked at them as if they were something disgusting or repulsive. His lip curled up in the same way his Dad's lip curled. They had a striking resemblance, and obviously they had the same repulsive ideals and snotty attitude. Castelluna opened her mouth to respond, but her mom stopped her. She put her hand on her shoulder and looked at her and shook her head "No."
"Lucius," she said, her voice as cold as ice. "Looks as though you haven't changed in the least. Well don't let us annoy you, what a terrible thing! Here we will move out of the way, no need to get your knickers in a twist."
She patted him on the shoulder and looked at Castelluna as she hugged her once more and they said their final goodbyes. Castelluna let a final tear slip down her cheek before wiping it away with the back of her hand and taking a deep breath. She exhaled slowly and walked up to the sleek black train. It won't be THAT bad, right? She told herself as she slowly took a step into the train. On both sides of her there were compartments made to fit four to six people. They stretched out as far as her eye could see and so far all the compartments she walked by were full. Finally she arrived at one that wasn't full, in it sat two boys and one girl. The boy had shaggy black hair and the boy had fiery red hair that was messily combed in to place, the girl on the other hand had brown hair that Castelluna thought looked like a lion's mane.
She walked into the compartment and asked,
"Can I sit?"
The girl with the lion's mane curtly responded with,
"Sure. We are doing magic. Come look."
Castelluna swung on the wall and plopped into a seat directly next to the boy with the jet black hair. He looked at her and gave her a faint smile. Castelluna smiled back as widely as she possibly could and then looked over at the boy with the red hair. He seemed to slink back into his seat and give her a slight shrug. She looked at him weirdly but in the end just shook her head in confusion and ended up pulling her cassette player out of her small backpack. She pressed the top of the clear flap and it popped up. She reached into her backpack and pulled out her tapes. (GUYS JUST A SIDE NOTE THE MUSIC IM GOING TO BE USING IS MODERN DAY MUSIC SO DONT COME FOR ME SAYING OH THAT SONG WASNT MADE THEN. I KNOW IT WASNT MADE THEN BUT IM GOING TO USE IT BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE IT. thanks bubs 😘😘) She sifted through her bag until she found her cassette. The cassette was a compilation of Shakira's greatest hits. Ever since she was a child, Castelluna's mom and dad taught her Spanish, since they were both Hispanic. She grew up listening to Shakira, AC/DC, Bob Marley, Foo Fighters, Metallica, and about every genre of music you could imagine. But today she chose the cassette that really brought her back home to when her parents used to dance with her to Shakira and she would perform for them. As she inserted the cassette she was going to put the headphones in her ears, only to realize that the people in the compartment were all looking at her. She remembered once again that they weren't influenced by muggles so they wouldn't know what the thing she had in her hand was.
"Blimey! What's that?" Asked the boy with red hair.
"It's called a cassette player. It's something you listen to music with. Have you really never seen one of those? God, you really should read more you know," stated the girl with the poofy hair as she rolled her eyes.
"I'm sorry but I didn't grow up with muggles so I'm sorry for not knowing. Geez," said the red head boy. "Anyways I don't think I introduced myself. Mum always says that I need to be more well mannered. I'm Ron, Ron Weasley."
"Nice to meet you, Ron. I'm Castelluna Riviera. And who might your friend's be?" Castelluna said signaling to the girl and boy.
The girl took a large breath and introduced herself as Hermione Granger. Castelluna felt as if she was a goodie-two-shoes, but she wouldn't dare tell her, then she might hex her. You never know, you never know.
"And you are?" Castelluna asked the black haired boy.
"I'm Harry, Harry Potter," he said.
Castelluna's eyes widened in amazement. Without thinking she reached over and pulled up his hair, to in fact, reveal a scar.
"WOW THATS SO COOL YOU ARE THE HARRY POTTER!" She shrieked, "I'm sorry. Mom says I need to stop being impulsive. My mom went to school with your parents. She said they were very nice people. In fact my mom and your mom were friends."
Harry just looked at her with his eyes open for a second before saying, "Nice to meet you, Castelluna."
"Well if you all don't mind I'm going to go to sleep, please wake me up once we arrive," Castelluna said.
Castelluna lifted her legs onto the sofa in front of her and put her backpack next to her. Just as she was falling asleep she felt something furry brushing against her thigh. She was confused at first, but then realized it was SCORPIUS. She forgot all about him. Scorpius was her cat. He was her best friend and he was always there whenever she needed him. She scooped him up and put him in her lap as he rolled up into a ball and slowly they both fell asleep together.
