Monroe patiently waited for the arrival of her handsome prince. He said he would return and Monroe believed it. She stopped flirting with any other men. Her father and brother believed this to not be the right move since they needed happy customers and she could possibly attract the attention of a rich man.
After a week of silence, she finally received some word. A man entered the tavern and approached the bar.
"I am looking for a woman named Monroe." He said to Niklaus.
"Yes, that's my sister. What of her?" Nik asked.
"I have a letter for her."
"Give it here." Nik urged.
"No, sir, I was ordered to make sure that I place it directly into her hands. It is a private letter." The man replied.
"Fine." Niklaus turned around and walked into the back room.
Monroe was cleaning the shelves of the dust and humming.
"Monroe. A man is here with a letter for you." Niklaus told his sister.
Monroe whipped around. "Really?!" She dropped her rag and ran out of the storage room.
"Sir," She bowed her head. "I am Monroe. I was told you have a letter for me."
"Yes, Miss." He reached into his satchel bag which was hanging on his shoulder. "Here is a letter from my master." He handed Monroe a piece of paper folded in half with a red wax seal over it.
She recognized the seal. It was the seal of the royal family! She placed the letter against her chest to hide it from wandering, curious eyes.
"My master also wishes to give you this gift." The man handed Monroe a piece of cloth that was folded over.
Monroe opened it to reveal and beautiful silver chained necklace with a red ruby charm. Monroe gasped and then covered the jewelry.
"Tell your master thank you and that I hope to see him again soon." Monroe smiled.
"I will, miss." He bowed his head and left the tavern.
Monroe rushed upstairs and jumped into her bed with joy. She cracked open the seal and opened the letter. She assumed it was written in the Prince's own hand writing.
The letter read: "Dearest Monroe, I must apologize for not coming to see you more often. My heart aches knowing it can't always be in the presence of your beauty. As I'm sure you are aware by now, I am your Prince. Do not fear for this fact does not affect how I feel towards you. I wish greatly to see you once more, to feel your lips upon mine. I'm sure that you are also aware that I am married. Don't let this discourage you either. I have been working on breaking that marriage for a long time since it is barely a marriage. The lady Regina is attractive and I respect her, but I have no feelings of love towards my wife. I hope that my words bring you comfort and that you don't forget me, for I am now and forever yours. Your Prince, Adler."
Monroe flopped backwards into her pillows and kissed the letter. She pulled out the necklace, sat up, and put it around her neck. Monroe kept her head high to show it off to all the men who dared to touch her that evening, so they would know that she wants to be theirs'.

Monroe and Adler exchanged letters for another week. Adler was still unable to visit her for his father was pushing for him to learn more about running the nation.
A month after their meeting, Adler was finally able to slip away. He rode out on his horse after sunset.
He burst through the tavern door with thrill in his step. Monroe was back in the storage room making a manifest and was unaware of his arrival.
Adler approaches he bar. "Bar keep? Where is Monroe, the waitress?"
Niklaus wasn't sure if should bow since he knew of the Prince's secret. "Uhh, she's back here."
Adler hopped over the bar and opened the door to the storage room.
"Niklaus, if we are getting busy then I can come out and help." Monroe said.
Adler grabbed her by the shoulder and whipped her around. Monroe gasped as he smashed his lips passionately into her's. She dropped the paper and feather pen in her hands onto the ground and wrapped her arms around his neck. He pulled away and smiled at her.
"You came back." She kissed his cheek. "Your highness." Monroe giggled.
Adler chuckled. "Of course I came back. How could I not? I see you are wearing the necklace I sent you."
Monroe smiled. "As I wrote to you, I have never taken it off."
"Shall we remedy that?" Adler ran his hand up the side of Monroe's body and grabbed onto her breast.
"Not here." Monroe exhaled. "Follow me." She grabbed his hand.
Adler followed her back outside into the tavern and through the door on the right side of the bar. She took him up the stairs and into her bedroom.
Adler shut the door behind them. He turned to see Monroe undoing the back of her dress. He followed suit by taking off his jacket. He closed the distance between them and helped her take off her dress. Now completely naked, Adler massaged her breasts as he kissed her neck. Monroe tugged his pants down and opened his briefs. Adler lifted her up and slammed Monroe onto her bed. Her breathing increased as he kissed and sucked on her entire body. He pulled off his shirt. Adler bent over Monroe and their lips met again. He stuck his tongue down her throat as his cock entered her body.  Monroe moaned with pleasure and wrapped her legs around the Prince's waist as he continued to thrust. She then opened her legs wider and accepted him fully.
This was the start of something new.
