Sandy was unlike any creature you may come across in other books. She was not born to be a vampire but she came from a normal family that lived in New York. Her parents were so unaware of the shadow world that when Sandy was born with her eyes glowing her mother swore she was a demon and left her on the streets to be found by a clan of vampires. The vampire's raised her as one of there own but she had no idea what they had planed for the young girl. On her 1000th birthday the vampire's meet with a warlock who was greater then anything Sandy had ever seen. They took her to where the hotel sits now and changed her with a spell and a bite of the man who had found her.

Once Sandy felt the power of both vampire and warlock coursing through her veins her body moved with no mind or soul attached. Ripping apart all who stood in front of her only leaving one to tell the tail insuring no one would ever try this again. Running from her once home she found herself in the middle of Alaska and explored this beautiful world for over 900 years until she heard on the grape vine vampires had returned to Brooklyn. Her instant reaction was to return to her home and kill the leader of this clan.

When she returned to Brooklyn she realised that the women running the clan was the girl she had, hundreds of year ago, let go to tell the story of her change. When face to face with the women she could no longer contain her anger and she fought with the child of the night. Unfortunately for Sandy she was outnumbered but she knew that Camille was badly injured and had fled Brooklyn soon after. With no one to help Sandy to heal she found herself cowering in a ally hiding from the night children and crying hoping this would be her last moments of being this evil monster.

Magnus Bane and Raphael Santiago were two men who saw no point in this war because this was one women against hundreds of vampires. So when they ignored Camille's ordered to find said women and destroy her they were chucked out saying how useless they were. Neither one seemed to care much as Raphael was unafraid and Magnus was used to her moody tantrums. Knowing she would not kill either of them because Magnus had taken Raphael under his wing and Magnus was Camille's boyfriend. They were basically able to do whatever they wanted and with that knowledge they went for a walk to get some coffee.

Laying in the ally way was a bleeding out girl and from where Raphael was stood he could smell her. Not wanting to hurt the injured girl he moved away and let Magnus try and help her. Pressing cold hands over the girls wound's made the girl hiss and fangs spring out. Raphael pulled Magnus away as the girl blinked her eyes open to reveal yellow eyes that were dulling. "What is she?" Raphael spoke in shock but Magnus pulled his arm out of Raphael's grip and knelt down by the girl again letting his blue magic fly out and heal her. Looking over to a dumb founded Raphael he let him see his yellow eyes. "I don't care. She's like us Raph. I won't let her die." Raphael nodded and moved into action. "Lets get her out of here."

Opening her eyes to see two worried and fearful eyes back Sandy tried to scramble away baring her fang. "Woah there" Sandy looked at the pale complexion of the man standing to her right who spoke again. "Look we aren't going to hurt you." He showed her his fangs and she jumped off the bed running into another man who's eyes were bright yellow. "Oh god...Please. I just didn't want what happened to me to happen again." Magnus frowned and went to wipe away a tear the girl had on her check but she flinched. "I'm not going to hurt you. What happened to you?" Sandy looked into the man's yellow eyes and began to tell the story of her change.

Magnus and Raphael sat either side of the red haired girl listening intently. Once the she finished speaking they both took a large breath and stood in front of her. "We wont ever let that happen. Camille has fled and when she returns we promise not to let her hurt anyone." Sandy smiled at the two men as Raphael passed her a cup of blood she thanked him. The next couple of days the two showed great care for her and before leaving she promised to return one day to see them both but she never thought it would be to be part of a war.
