Walking down the rocky dirt path was Pèable. His red fur twinkled in the moonlight as if he coated himself with glitter. He searched the air and it's attracting scents for berries. But all he picked up was the murky water in the pond, the damp leaves of the great tall oaks, and the comforting scent of Kimàre searching the bushes for mice.

Kimàre shot her head up out of the bush with a rodent in her jaws when Pèable yipped her name.

"I would think it is ought to be the time we head back." He looked up at the bright blue moon again. Kimàre ignored this and kept searching for mice in the bush. Pèable got annoyed when she did this so this time he dashed away from her heading back for Springwood plains.

Kimàre didn't realize, as for Pèable's paws pounding against the ground was drained out by the rustling of the bush in Kimàre's ears.

When Pèable reached the plains he realized Kimàre hadn't come trotting along after him. Pèable started barking her name. Pèable was not worried about Kimàre's no immediate response. So back to the bush he ran and there sat next to the bush in tears was, Kimàre.

She was crying loudly. Pèable sat in front of her and put his nose touching the end of hers. Then began to sing.

"The wind howls when no one is there, the moon shines when no one sees, but as long as you have me we will be there when the wind howls. And we will be there when the moon shines. Nothing can split us in two, just know that I will always love you."

Kimàre closed her eyes and smiled and whispered, "Just know that I will always love you."

When Pèable arrived back at his den, he heard a voice in the wind of the dark night. It was a rough voice familiar too, but it seemed to go at the same pace as the night wind.

"Pèable! Where were you? Or more so, what took you so long?" It said. Pèable stared blankly into the night with nothing on his brain to respond.

Kimàre had already gone into her den with her mother, Pèable's aunt. Pèable was still out in the chilly night, but all he did was kept staring off into the further depths of the forest. The wind brushed through his thin red fur, and the moonlight flickered in his bright silver eyes. But again the voice spoke more sternly, "Pèable, what took you so long? I want to know."

By then Pèable had figured out who it was. "You want to know why I have taken only a precise two minutes more than expected, however mister you do not need to know." Pèable spat back before turning and heading back inside to his den.

"Stupid fox," the figure mumbled, "he just thinks that he is so important just because he is Alpha's son." The figure emerged from the shadows and sat on some scattered grass that obviously did not get enough sunlight. His grey fur, long and shaggy with knots and dirt in it pluffed out a small cloud of dust when he sat down. As he did, Pèable watched from inside his even darker den, "Sklotuff is a strange one, I have always pondered his actions but never have they become reality." Pèable whispered. "What mean Peb?" Pèable's little sister Klethara had awoken. "Oh little Klethara," Pèable smiled, "it means that I have so many questions about Sklotuff in my mind but never have I said them to anyone." Klethara fell onto her back from trying to stand up. Then she started to drool, "Klethy tired." she yawned before rolling her tongue out so it drooped out of her mouth and closing her eyes.

Pèable quietly and gently pushed Klethara's tired body over and gripped her pelt to lift her over to Pèable's mother. He layed her down and smiled before Klethara yawned again and tucked her face into her mother's warm fur. As Klethara turned over so her back was to her older brother, Pèable kissed the back of her head.

Midnight soon came, causing Pèable to curl up next to his old mother. Then slept, they did.
