CHAPTER 4: THE CHASE IS ON

       - ELIJAH'S P.O.V. -

Once the last person left I silently went up to my room. I couldn't believe that Faith was my mate. After all the years of torture and havoc I forced upon her, why would the moon goddess make us soul mates? And now each day, especially since I'm the Alpha, I will have to see her face. I walked into my room  in a daze; thinking about how beautiful she looked, how graceful she walked into the party, and how at ease she made me feel by just looking at her. If only she wasn't an Omega. Well, now that I'm really thinking about it, she isn't really an Omega- we made her be one.

I could feel my wolf hurting from the rejection. Never would I have thought that Faith would do that to me. It makes sense after all the hurt and pain I've caused her though. With an over exaggerated sigh I fell backwards onto my bed to stare at the ceiling. I couldn't help but think of how exquisite she looked tonight. God! Why didn't I accept her, especially when I knew the possible effects of it? My wolf could be destroyed forever, my heart could never truly love another, and my life would always feel empty. In my mind it felt like the end of me so much so, that it made me want to cry. I'm such an idiot. I'm an Alpha! I could've forced everyone to accept her as their Luna. Sitting there for a while, I snapped my fingers as the realization dawned on me. That's It! That's exactly what I can do for her! With my new found encouragement I immediately jumped off my bed, rushed down the halls and up a bunch of stairs until I was standing face-to-door.

As soon as I was outside her attic, I felt like something was off. Her scent was there, except it was very faint. I didn't hear a sound coming from her side of the door but a gentle breeze.- no shower running, no draws slamming, no snoring or whimpering, just nothing. My wolf, not liking the looks of the situation, immediately wanted to be unleashed. Keeping him in check, I hastily knocked on her door a few times; not once getting a reply. I started to become so nervous that i grabbed the door knob, and wiggled it only to see that it was jammed. Feeling panicked, I started to throw my shoulder into Faith's door until I knocked it off its hinges. Running into the make-shift room I checked everyone for, but she wasn't there. Standing in the middle of her room, I began to think of all the places she could've gone. Scratching my head in frustration, I turned in circles and noticed that her window was open- explains the breeze, her draws were empty, and her bed made. Judging from the looks of things, I began to wonder was she running away.

No, i thought. She might hate me, but there is no way she would runaway from a pack who loved- more like despised- her. Well.... in that case, I'd want to runaway too. I'm surprised she lasted this long. I felt the tug in my brain that let me know somebody in my pack wanted me. From the consistency of it, I could tell it was urgent.

"Alpha Elijah, our Omega, Faith West-brook, is running towards our border in human form as if to cross it" My Beta and best friend John informed me. "What should I do?" My heart started to speed up at the thought of her leaving me. I had to stop Faith and let her know I wanted her so bad it almost hurt, that I was stupid to reject her, and I was willing to do anything as long as she felt the same and took me back.

"John I need you to stop her." I replied with urgency.

"Why would I do that? You and I both know that nobody wants Faith here. I'm her brother and I'm glad it looks as if she's leaving. I say let her go." I could hear pure hatred leaking from his thoughts, and couldn't help but let loose a viscous growl.

"Just do what I say! I will be there in a minute. Try to mind link her so you can convince her to stay." I said with my Alpha voice so I knew he wouldn't disobey. Without thinking I jumped through her open window, and while in mid-fall I shifted into my amber toned wolf. Letting loose another mighty growl, I sped off into her direction by following her scent. There was no way I'm going to let her escape. Faith is mine! As soon as I fix this mess I caused, I was going to get her back. Feeling determined I ran even faster. Okay Faith, the chase is on.
