Isaiah and i have been spending a lot of time together. We are not official but we both know that what we share is special. And we both know that titles complicate things so we just came up with a mutual understanding and left it at that. I just got back from treating myself to dinner at my favorite mexican restaurant. Usually i go over Isaiah's for dinner because that boy can throw down, but tonight he was having dinner with his parents. I decided to facetime my best friend Mary. It broke me to leave her in Jersey , but we both agreed that this was a good opportunity for me. When the screen connected i was caught off guard to see Mary with a tear stained face

"What's wrong pumpkin?" I asked calling her by her pet name

"My dad is in the hospital, He just had a massive heart attack" she replied breaking down in tears

"Oh My Gosh" I said surprised

I couldn't stop the tears from running down my face. I have know Marys dad , Big Ed, since i was 14. I met the Smiths when i was in 8th grade and i started dating Mary's twin brother Mike. I became very close with Mary while i dated her brother. Mike and I only lasted for 1 month but mary and i continued our bond.

"Where is Mama?" I questioned.

"She is at the hospital with him" she said " I don't know what i would do if he dies" she continued

"Don't talk like that" I said as i glared at her "You wanna pray?"

She nodded her head and closed her eyes. I began to pray and asked God to heal Big Ed. I had faith that he was gonna survive. But if he so happen to pass i knew it was for a purpose and was gonna be a blessing in disguise.

After I finished praying I looked up to see Mary had dozed off. I muttered a quick 'I love you' and hung up. It was now 8:52pm on the dot. I decided to go into the kitchen and grab a snack for my sweet tooth. As i settled on the couch a hard knock hit my door. I got up and looked through the peephole only to see Isaiah standing there with a hard look on his face. I opened the door and before i could even speak he barged in.

" Well hello to you too" I said with a voice full of sarcasm

"Who is Calem?" He asked with a hard face

"My math partner" I answered with a confused look. " Why" I questioned

"Because that nigga was just bragging about how he was supposed to take you on a date tomorrow. " He explained

I shook my head and sighed. Calem has been trying to get with me since i stepped foot on this campus. I never gave him any play because i simply didn't find him attractive. Yes i was meeting up with Calem tomorrow to work on a project at the library. If that's what he wanted to call a date he was delusional.

"Welp he is lying, we were supposed to meet up at the library tomorrow for a project but nothing more" i confessed

I saw Isaiah's face soften once he notice how caught off guard i was.

"Im sorry for coming crazy." He apologized " I just aint like how he was talking about my girl right to my face" he sighed

"Your girl?" I asked with a smirk

"Yup MY GIRL" he said as he walked closer to me " Is that alright with you stink?" he asked as he wrapped his arms around me

"Whatever you want" I responded smiling up at him

"Good" he said leaning down and pecking my lips.

Looks like i gotta nigga.
