A/N: (F/N) = Full name
Suzy's POV:
At some point I must have fallen asleep on the couch in the Grump room. I began to look around when my phones ringtone scared me. I picked it without looking at who was calling.
"Hello?" My voice sounded raw from all the crying I had done.
"Yes hello Mrs. Berhow?"
I clear my throat a bit, "Yes that's me, how my I help you?" I ask politely.
"We have a miss (F/N) and she has you listed under her emergency contact. She was just in a serious car accident and as she's unconscious we'll need you to come down here and sign some paperwork."
I was already grabbing my things and standing by Arins desk when I replied, "Yes I fully understand, I'll be down there as soon as I can. Can you tell me how bad she is?" Arin looked up at me hopeful and I gave him a wary smile.
"Well the doctors are still looking at her but even without x-rays it's clear to see that she has a broken arm and lots of cuts and bruises. As for anything internal, I am unaware at this moment. When you come down here we can give you more answers."
"Thank you so much, I'll head there right now," I hung up and looked at Arin who already had his car keys in his hand and was ready to go.
"She's alive!" I say with overwhelming relief and Arin warps his strong arms around me.
"I'm coming with you," Danny had walked up behind us and also had his keys, "I don't know who she is but if she's important to you guys then she's important to me."
I smile and nod at Danny and we all head to the hospital.

~time skip~

A man who looked to be in his thirties approached us and stuck his hand out for a handshake, "Mrs. Berhow?"
"Yes that's me, what room is (Y/N) in"
"That would be room 219, it's on the second floor to the right. But before you go could I go over some things with you first."
"Of course doctor, what do you need?"
The doctor walked us over to a small office off to the side and sat us down.
"Well first, what is your relationship with the patient? She only had you listed for emergencies."
"I'm (Y/N)'s best friend, I've known them since we were in high school. We've always been very close."
The doctor nodded along and scribbled some notes onto a clipboard, "Do you know if she has any family around?"
I paused for a moment thinking of what to say, this really wasn't my story to tell. Arin places a hand on mine and decided to go with the quick answer, "Both of their parents and sibling died in a car accident when they were young. After that they went to live with their Aunt, but she hasn't been very present in their life. Me and my husband, Arin, are the only family she really has even if it's not true by blood."
"Thank you for sharing that with me. As for (Y/N)'s condition, they'll need to stay here for a few days before we're positive it's safe to discharge them. Even after I would like them to stay in someone's care at all times. I hope this isn't too much trouble for you Mrs. Berhow, we could keep them here but that would just make the medical bills worse."
"I understand, they'll stay with us. Now what exactly is the condition they're in?" I'm hesitant to even ask.
"Luckily it seems that the worst of the damage is a puncture wound to the stomach but we patched that up. (Y/N) also has a sprained ankle, two broken ribs, and some cuts and bruises. I recommend that they shower with someone present so make sure there are not accidents."
I nod slowly taking in all of the information and I'm already mentally rearranging furniture to accommodate to (Y/N). I look over to Danny and he looks to be deep in an unpleasant thought. Leaning across Arin I pat Danny's head and squeeze his hand to reassure him.
The doctor then led us all to (Y/N)'s room and almost couldn't bring myself to open the door. Good thing Arin reached around me and opened it.
(Y/N)'s hospital room was surprisingly spacious and had a large window looking out to the courtyard. There was a small sitting area in the room for family and across from it was a curtain that wrapped around the hospital bed.
"Hey guys I'm going to sit out here for now and let you guys have a moment." Danny quietly mentions before sitting on the wooden bench outside the room.
I held Arin's hand tightly and took a deep breath before fully entering the room. Arin nods at him and guides me over to (Y/N) and pulls the curtain back.
