It was Malia's first day as a full fledged Alpha. She was responsible for an actual pack now! So naturally she was nervous.
At least she had Cora and Scott there with her to ease her worries.
Boyd, Isaac and Erica keeping an eye on her at a safe...not maddening distance. She talked endlessly with Cora, got to know her other cousins more and play flirted with Scott.
All in all, a great first day.
Until she got the call.
"Hi, puppies. We're all going to the mall, wanna come?" Malia asked.
"Yes! That would be amazing.
I need some stuff anyway." Erica said.
"Yeah, I'll go. There has to be an arcade or bookstore somewhere in there." Boyd said.
"With you, darlin'...I'll go anywhere." Isaac said with a little wink.
"Good to know." Malia laughed.
"Stop flirting with her. That's Scott's job." Cora said jokingly.
"Stop causing trouble, sis." Malia said.
"But weren't you__" Miguel said.
"I was doing no such thing!"
Scott insisted. Malia put a finger up.
"Hey, Derek. What's up?" Malia asked.
"They took our house." Derek said.
"The Hale house? Like they moved themselves in? And who is they?" Malia asked.
"Rival pack, lead by Cardin Daly." Derek said.
"How do you know this ridiculously named guy and his friends took the house?" Malia asked.
"Because he's standing right here. Word spread about your new position and he wants a parlay with you." Derek said. He could hear the tf? Expression over the phone.
"Okay...Explain how one takes an entire house." Malia sighed.
"I don't know. I came back from the hardware store and there was nothing there but him and his pack." Derek explained. "Can I just kill them all and call it a day?"
"As tempting as that sounds, don't touch him. I'm on my way." Malia said and hung up. "Well...No mall for us."
"What happened?" Miguel asked.
"Some twat and merry band of dicks destroyed our already destroyed house and is now demanding to see me." Malia said. She sighed disgustedly before stomping to her car. Her friends following suit.
