It had been a long week and all Malia wanted to do was hit the club with her bestie and unwind.
They walked in there looking hot and owning it.

Coasting on boys. Just having a little fun. Then he showed up.
"You have got to be kidding me."
Malia said when she turned.
"Is that Scott?" Kira asked.
"Unfortunately." Malia said.
"I think he sees you." Kira said.
"Crap. Cover me." Malia said and covered her face. Turning away.
"Malia! What are you doing here?" Scott asked. Obviously knowing she was there.
"Here with my friend." Malia said wrapping an arm around Kira.
"I see that. Can we talk?" Scott asked.
"Go ahead. I'll be right here."
Kira said.
"No! I came with you and I don't plan on ditching you for a guy I barely know. Come on. Let's hit the dancefloor." Malia said and took her friend's hand. Scott had a drink and watched them.
At the end of the night, Kira was wasted, so Malia took her home and tucked her in.
Scott was leaning against her car.

"That was really honorable." Scott said. Malia pouted at him.
"No. Go away." Malia said.
"I know you're trying to be menacing but you're just so cute." Scott gushed.
"Shut up. Why won't you leave me alone? I'm not your Alpha.
Derek. He's your guy." Malia said.
"Derek wants you to be Alpha too." Scott shrugged. "Your family needs you, Malia. Like they actually need you. To survive. Other packs are coming." Scott said.
"Get in the car." Malia said. Scott didn't hesitate. "Look...Derek is my aunt's son. The middle child. And since Talia and Derek's older sister Laura are both dead, Derek inherits that Alpha position. It's his birth rite.
I became Alpha because of selection.
She chose me to lead the pack.
But Derek..he's the real Alpha.
I'm a knockoff. If you want strength..." Malia said. Trying to convince him, she wasn't the one.
"That's what makes you extra special. Because she chose you. Seeing a natural born leader when you were young. She loved you. Don't you think you owe it to Talia to carry on her will for you. Are you just going watch your aunt's pack__ your family__ crumble. Let other wolves invade your land while you go to school like nothing's wrong?" Scott asked sarcastically. "That's selfish."
"That's just how I am." Malia said.
"No it's not." Scott said.
"You barely know me." Malia said.
"True but from what I can tell, you're full of grace and compassion. Honor. Qualities an Alpha should have." Scott said. Malia ran her hand through her hair and sighed.
"You're really selling this, aren't you?
Fine. Whatever. I'll talk to Derek tomorrow." Malia said defeated.
"And I get to be part of your pack?" Scott asked hopefully.
"As annoying as you are, everyone needs a pack so...why not? You win." Malia said. Scott smiled. "Oh shut up."
"Thank you. You won't regret this. One more thing..." Scott said.
Malia already knew what he was thinking and started the car.
Taking him home.
Playing Phil Collins' "Take Me Home" as they went.
