Kat's POV

{Tuesday, November 18, 6:03 am}

It's been eight full months since Odette had her accident, and not one of us have gotten over it. Even the teachers would not allow new students to sit in the empty seat in the middle of the room. I was on my way to the hospital, clutching my jacket close to my body making my way along the foggy streets. There were no cars driving around or any people on the side walks aside from me - and the only reason I was out here was because 'Mrs. Odette Miller should be waking up any minute and we prefer to have all family members and close friends around when she does.' So I got myself up, threw on a coat, and left straight out my house - no questions asked.

Cameron hated himself for what he did from the beginning. There was no answer as to why he did it, or why he didn't stop after the first time, or why he refused to take it all back, but he still seemed very angry himself for doing it - surprisingly. He would call me in the middle of the night, crying and pleading that I go with him to the hospital, even though Joey was there every night and Joey hated Cameron. After all, he did nearly kill his only niece.

Stella, also surprising, has been sober for 6 months. Killing Odette has never been one of her intentions, she was 'just angry at herself.' And after two months of her being in a coma, common sense shoved it's cockolini alfredo in Stella's pasta bowl and set her straight.

I was now half way to the hospital since it was only and 20 minute walk. I could've easily driven here but decided not to instead since all I've been doing was sitting in my room alone all day long. Once I walked in through the hospital doors, I saw Joey sitting down alone in the lobby. The nurses were constantly changing Odette's room so we never really knew exactly where she was. The first time they had changed her room was back in April when she first went into cardiac arrest.

Cameron, Brent, and Nash walked in a few minutes after I came in and sat down across from me and Joey. I hadn't seen Nash since we broke up, back in the middle of March. I didn't pay much attention to him and snuggled myself up in my jacket. Cameron, as per usual, avoided Joeys gaze and stared at his shoes instead.

A half an hour quickly passed and we were finally allowed to see Odette. The doctors said that she was waking up but still tired. Of course, Joey was the first to walk in since he was the only present family members, then the boys and I followed. As soon as I walked into the room, I felt as if I forgot how to breathe. She looked like a walking skeleton - pale, skinny to every possible bone, eyes that looked practically dead, volume-less hair. She was sitting up staring at her lap as if she wasn't even in the same space as us. She seemed too distracted to notice us walking into the room, or to stay focused on anything or anyone.

Joey walked over to her and held onto her hand. I noticed her arms look so skinny, I thought they would snap off.

"Don't you guys fucking feed her in this place?" I looked surprised at the nurse who jumped at the loudness of my voice.

"Her body was refusing the food and we would have negative reactions that would be hurting her from the inside so we had to limit her nutritions." She walked over to her and pulled the IV out of her arm quickly making her jump and begin to hyperventilate. "She tends to zone out very easily so you might have to slap her out of her daze once in a while.. Sweetie, Odette you have some visitors." She looked terrified. I didn't like the way she said her name, like she was some type of lab experiment.

"Honey?" Joey spoke out to her and she looked at him as if he was some creature from a different planet. After she studied him for a few seconds, she began to look around the room.

"Where am I?" Her voice was dry from not speaking for months and I could tell it hurt her throat. Joey on the other hand was as happy as any person could ever be in their life. He sat up and hugged Odette hard enough to break her ribs in two, although she wasn't as thrilled about the embrace.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" She pushed him off and nearly threw herself off the bed in an attempt to get away from him. "Don't touch me. Don't ever touch me again - get him out of here!" The nurse grabbed her arms and rubbed them in a comforting manner, cooing her as if she was used to this behavior by now.

"Odette, what the hell was that? It's just Joey." I tried reaching out to her but she pushed herself away even further making the nurse grab a firmer hold on her.

"What the fuck is she talking about?" She looked over at the nurse, terrified and shaking already. "Get her away from me!"

"I forgot to mention, she get's frightened very easily. We dropped a spoon earlier and she started crying so you might want to take it slow. Then again, at the time, she didn't know what a spoon was." She seemed irritated with the situation. I looked over at Cameron and Brent and they looked just about as confused as I was.

"What the hell does that mean? Odette, don't you remember me?" Joey tried touching her hand again but she jerked it away, no longer frightened but angry.

"I haven't seen any of you in my life." She looked over at the nurse again. "And who the fuck is Odette?"
