Hey everyone. I actually have an excuse for why I haven't updated this time! Lately I have been going through a lot of family issues and a lot of personal issues so when I got the chance to update, I did what I could. So this chapter is especially long because of how much time I've been spending off of here. And I realize that it's been a long time since I updated this book, but I'm working as hard as I can to be on here as often as possible. I got the chance to visit some of my relatives over my weekend and I wanted to use that time to be able to get a new chapter in for you readers. So as for this, ENJOY:) And as another option I decided I'll be adding in pictures to describe what I'm writing. Just because why not! So see ya later!!
Delirious' Pov...
It's been 3 months since that incident happened. Evan's mom had gotten a giant store of money she had just in case something like this happened from a few people she knew. She quit her job and applied for a job in North Carolina buying a house there and created a new identity for herself and us. We still go by our real names, but only when we are alone at home. Evan's mom als bought us a really big apartment in the suburbs of the city.
I don't really mind having a big apartment with Evan and his mom cause I love them both like my family. I was always scared of my mother because she showed me nothing but terror and constantly made me scared of her. So I never knew what it felt like to be loved by a family, and when Evan's mom took me into her house I was scared cause I didn't know what to expect.
She was always so kind to me and treated me like her own son, I never knew what I could do to repay her for all of the years that she's kept me safe and made me feel like I have a normal family. I never knew what I could do to help her and thank her. But now I do...
I tell Evan that I want to go outside for a walk and I tell his mom that as well. They both gave me the same look, the "I'm not sure I should let you but I will because you asked me" kind of look. I thanked them and told them I'll be safe because I have my place that I'm going to. It's a few miles away from the town we live in now and it's surrounded by an area that only animals can reach.
It usually takes me about a half hour of running towards there, a creek appears that I have to cross. I scratched out the places I need to step because it gives me more friction when I step. I pretty much have the pattern memorized so I basically run across the log and into the bushes through the path I made.
I transform back into my human self but this time I see little sparks and I get wobbly when I try to walk. I shake them off and continue walking through the tunnel till I get where I want to be. My own place. If I ever got the courage to I'd show Evan this place... but for some reason I feel like he wouldn't like being around me anymore...
The tunnel I dug out was really long because I needed to make sure that not many people knew what it was that made it, in case I needed a place to hide away from the house. And in this case, I found a place in the forest where I could practice my powers and be by myself if I needed to. And the part that I love the most about this forest is that there is always something new to discover. Mostly because everything here is so beautiful and pretty, everything is unique.
But there was one reason mainly why I wanted to come here... I wanted to be able to something for a long time but never remembered how to until last night when I had a dream. A dream of when I was a little...and when I was happy. I pulled out my dog tags and the little vile of liquid my dad gave me when I was little...
Flashback...
"Wear them all the time, unless you are forced to take them off and hide them. Always carry them with you, no matter what. The vile is something I made myself. It allows me to see the dead whenever I choose. And you only need to drink it once. I will always be here for you if you ever need me, I will always watch over you, my brave little soldier. I love you..." His voice fades as the flash back ends.
End of flashback...
That day that my dad died right in front of me. The day he died was the day that he gave me his dog tags and the vile of liquid on them as well. I remember seeing him just before the color faded from his eyes... I'm never going to forget him, now that I can see him when I want.
I pull out the dog tags and the vile of liquid and pull off the top for the vile. I set down the necklace part and hold the vile close to my mouth. I only drop a few drop of the liquid onto my tongue. I quickly grab the necklace and put the cap back on the vile before anything possibly happened. I close my eyes tightly thinking something was going to happen, when nothing did.
Suddenly my eyes shot out blue flames and glowed with blue fire gleaming from the edges. Not knowing what was going on I started panicking. I felt myself slowly being lifted off of the ground only for a small amount of time, and I fell to the ground soon after that. My hands were consistently shaking and were sparking like crazy so I started digging just to try to put them out.
Nothing worked trying to put out the flames coming from my hands, when I ran to the river to extinguish them, it only made them fly faster and change colors from red to blue, to black, even to purple. As a I run around the area I created I fall and see the flames turn back to blue and calm down as they spread out on the ground.
As soon as I lifted my hands back up off the ground the blue flames turned purple and back to blue, creating a scenery out of a dream almost. I couldn't understand why the flames turned purple but I didn't question it based on how beautiful the scene in front of me was. But one thing made me question it. There was a single gravestone down the hill from where I was.
(I know that it looks like a cliff, but I didn't find a picture like the description said, but here you go. It's called Grave by sandara on Deviantart)
I walked down to the gravestone to see what it looked like because it was too far away fo me just to jump over to it. But what shocked me was that it had my father's initials carved into the headstone. I walked over towards it more just to place my hand on it and as soon as I did, white light started seeping through the cracks of the carved letters. I backed up a lot just to shield my eyes from the bright light.
