I moved in a couple months ago, i made some great friends while living here. I met an amazing guy too. His name was Colby. He was a YouTuber and Viner. He had a large fanbase and I was surprised for him to continue being my friend.
When I first met him i thought he wasn't my type, but I was wrong. Our friendship grew stronger each day. we were practically inseparable.
During those few months of living in LA, me and him found a hobby. We would sit down in the living room and we would each pick out a movie we liked. After the movie was over the other person, who didnt watch the movie before, would critique it.
Every weekend we did this. We just sat there and laughed at each other's opinions and we would argue about the best parts. Each of those days he became more and more attractive in my eyes.
One day, i was preparing for his arrival at ny apartment when he texted me.
Colbs: Hey, can't make it tonight. Got plans.
Me: oh darn. What are you doing?
Colbs: I got a date.
Me: oh. Well okay then! Have fun.

I set my phone on the counter trying not to cry.
How did my best friend forget my birthday? I went to my room and changed into my pjs. I sat in my bed with my laptop and a tub of ice cream and ate away my feelings.

COLBYS POV//
It was y/n birthday today. For the past couple weeks I have been planning on surprising her for her birthday. Me and and watched movies every single weekend, but one movie in particular she has always wanted to watch but never got the chance to.
The notebook.
I got it for her. We were gonna watch it together for the surprise. But it backfired.
Y/n: Oh darn. what are you doing?
I panicked and said the first thing that came to my mind.
Me: I got a date.
Y/n: oh. Well okay then! Have fun.
Stupid.
I had to change the plan. I knew she wasn't gonna go out and do something with anyone. All her friends were busy because I told them that night it was just going to be me and her.
I had to think of a new plan.

YOUR POV//
I felt better. Even though I watched this movie 20 times before. I went to put all my dishes away and got back into bed to 2 texts from Sam.
Sam: Hey! Happy birthday! Wanna come hang out with me and Kat?
Sam: you don't have to.
I accepted and got dressed again. Even though I was regretting doing it, Sam did remember my birthday.
I got my makeup on and headed over. I dressed comfy casual.
I knocked on the door and heard Sam yell that it was open. I open the door to the lights out completely.
The only light source was fairy lights draped over a blanket fort. Inside the fort was pillows and more blankets and a computer with a dvd on top of it.
I crawled in to see what it was.
The notebook.
I smiled the widest I ever have.
I hurried out to look for colby but he was standing there waiting.
"My plan backfired.." he said rubbing his neck.
"What do you mean? It's perfect." I smiled and pulled him in for a hug.
"Happy birthday." He said smiling.
"I hate surprises!" I said playfully pushing him.
"Oh darn. I guess you're not gonna like the other one then." He said grinning.
"What do you mean?" I asked confused. "You didn't have to get me-" he started talking before I could finish my sentence.
"Y/n, you're beautiful. You're sweet. You're kind. You're a good person to talk to. You make it easy to be me. You're amazing." He paused.
"Aaaanddd...? Tell me something I don't know." I said jokingly. He giggled and so did I. "Continue.."
"Well what you don't know..is that I've fallen madly in love with you. I know it hasn't been long. But that's how I feel. And I truly hope you feel the same." I started to get teary eyed.
"I wanted to know if..maybe..you would make me the luckiest man alive..by calling yourself mine?" He blushes and he held my hands.
I grabbed him and kissed him.
"Of course. I'm yours."

The rest of the night we watched the notebook and cuddled. I was his. And he was mine.
