"Tonigh?" I put down the weights taking out one of my headphones as my best friend Eli finishes taking a swig of water from his water bottle. "Yes man, my family hasn't seen you in ages. It would make them all happy" he said.
He's right, I don't remember the last time I saw his family, maybe high school? College? Whenever it was, it has been too long. "Do they know I'm coming?" "No, but it would be a good surprise" I think about it for a second longer then I need to. "Of course I'll go" Eli gives me a small smile. "Good, maybe this will give my mother something new to talk about." I stare at him in confusion. "What do you mean?" He takes another swig off his water "my mother's latest obsession has been to find my sister a man."
I laugh. Thinking about the last time I saw Melanie, she's a couple years younger then Eli and I but we always use to go to parties together and hang out, she was always the crazy one, and I came to think about her as a younger sister. "I'm guessing she's not happy about your mom playing match maker?" Eli tosses a white towel over his shoulder and sits on the opposite bench.
"It should be made into a t.v show by how mad Melanie gets every times there's a plus one at dinner" I laughed, getting up and making my way to the locker room with Eli in tow.
"What time is dinner?"
