I turn the knob to let the chum come in.

As I open the door, I find Kes waiting on the front stairs. His stance is not at all good with all his weight leaning on his right leg. He has his hand tucked on the parapet along the stairs. The smirk on his face adds up to his style points. He always rocks the glamour.
Every single girl in the school is crazy about him. They don't miss a single chance to flatter the hot boy with cheesy comments and all the winks, making him proud of what he is. For me, I do like boys. But boys have an anticipation that the studious' are boring. I never thought it that way. Besides, what everyone likes never please me. I am pathetic. But that's my way.

Kes waves his palm to me,"Hey". I slightly curve my lips and slide the door open to let him come in. As he takes the step, he rolls his eyes around to have a look at my home. I swing the door gently and turn the knob.

"You've got a nice home, Ev," says Kes.

I mark,"Mom newly renovated the area."

He grins, " Pretty cool." He gives a sigh and sniffs, " So, is it ready?"

All he asks is about the project he had given me to work on. I miff, " Oh yeah! It's um almost complete."

"So, can I get it? I actually have a commitment with Cynthia," says he.

"Ofcourse." I walk up the stairs and enter my workshop which once used to be my Dad's office. All of my freetime is always engaged within these walls. I open the cupboard to take out his assignment. I at once hear a clink as something hits the floor. I turn my eyes to check the trouble. Kes is leaned to the ground picking up the wrenches that slipped of the desk.

His expression is sheepish and baffled as his eyes interlock with mine. An awkward silence prevail the room.

"I- I'm sorry I didn't..."

I cut his words and make him feel comfortable," It's fine."

He amusingly watches the implements spread all over the table and in the room, "Jeez! This seems bitching cool."

I wonder at his interest in them. He never seems a guy liking the scientific stuff. I reply frantically in a distorted manner, " Kinda maybe. Just an upshot of free time and leisure work."

He chuckles. I never found him interested in the meticulous exertions. I feel charmed finding the not so known Kes' side of his interests in science.
