• Xenia •

I was fully dressed and ready for a long day at internship. I was nervous, but I was confident that I could do the work and get a job for the company in the long run.

I had just finished brushing my teeth when I got a call. I rushed to my bedroom and answered the unknown number.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Good morning, Xenia."

My heart fluttered. Why was my heart fluttering? It was just Alaric. Just a guy. Who was amazing in bed. And out of bed. Who was mysterious. And had a magnetic personality. Jeez.

"Alaric," I said with a smile. "How'd you get my cell?"

"Jay, who else?"

I blushed. No shit.

"Right. So what's up?"

"I want to ask you on another date," he said.

Was he being serious? Another date?

"I... Uh..."

He chuckled. "It's not a hard decision to make."

"It's 7 am!" I squeaked.

"Right, and I need to know your answer now, so I can prepare for tonight."

Prepare? Was he making his own dinner?

"You cook?" I laughed. He gave a soft chuckle.

"Why is that such an amusing question?"

"Because you have everything served to you on a silver platter. You don't cook for yourself or anyone else!"

"Okay, you have a point. I haven't cooked a day in my life, but I'm willing to put in effort for you."

How sweet.

I bit back my smile.

"Alright, I'll go."

"I'll be around to pick you up at 9:30 tonight."

I laughed once again. "You? Or Wes?"

He laughed. "I do drive, and I'm one hell of a driver. This is me and you tonight. No one else."

I couldn't help my face splitting grin as I heard that.

"You're so adorable, Xenia," Alaric said softly.

"How could you make that assumption?"

"Because you're grinning from ear to ear."

"I actually have the straightest face in the world." Alaric snorted.

"You can't lie to me, baby."

My whole entire body tingled and shuddered.

"We're at the stage of petnames now?"

"Only if that's what gets you wet."

Oh god.

I cleared my throat.

"I have to go now," I said quickly.

He chuckled. "See you tonight."

"Yeah, okay."

I quickly hung up and ran out of my room, careful not to break my ankles in the heels I was wearing.

I grabbed my things and rushed down the elevator to meet Jay. He rubbed his eyes and yawned.

"You look awful," I murmured.

"I'm tired," Jay whined. I frowned and cupped his face. Jay tensed and moved my hand. "Hard limit, Xenia."
