Chapter 4- Tidal Wave

After 4 hours of agonizingly slow book work and staring out the window, the bell finally rung, signifying lunch time.

"FOOD! FUCK YEAH!" I cheer, pumping my fist in the air. The kids around me laugh and start cheering with me, while my teacher scolds me for using curse words. Like I care.  I step outside the classroom and am met with a sight that almost makes me lose my appetite. Almost. Emerson and his bitch ass girlfriend are making out on the wall right in front of my classroom.

"The horror! It blinds me!" I shriek and start running all over the place.

"Jealous?"

I stop in my tracks and look at Emerson closely. I walk up to him and place my palm on his forehead, checking his temperature.

"You seem a bit hot, are you sure you're okay?" I smirk. Ha, motherfricker.  He backs away and rubs his forehead off.

"Don't fucking touch me whore" Emerson sneers.

"Don't insult us whores of the world, Emerson! Your girlfriend might get offended"  The whole crowd around us erupted in a chorus of "Oooohs!" I wave innocently and skip off to the cafeteria.

The cafeteria food was not that bad honestly. Some people say the pizza tastes like cardboard. But really? I told them to take a bite out of the plates they use to hold the pizza, chew and swallow. Then take a bite out of the cheesy, pizza and see if it fricken tastes like cardboard. Food is food. I ain't complaining. I stack my non-pizza tasting cardboard with good pizza, fruit, tater tots, juice and milk, and scan the loud room for my friends.

"Yo! Vi!"

And there they are. Sat in the very middle, gaining the eyes of most with his booming voice, lies Collin. I smile and make my way towards him.

"Hey, Col."

He takes my plate away and envelops my tiny body in his massive one. No hugs in the world were better than Collins. I peer up at him, yes,up. I'm short, believe me I fuckin know, and his warm chocolate brown eyes looked down on me. Collin is attractive. Standing at 6'2, he's all muscle, and honey swept brown hair that compliments his dark eyes. I would've been on that dick, if he wasn't my best friend.

"What's up, buttercup?"

I groan and sit down next to Spencer, my other best friend.

"How many times does she have to tell you to not call her that Col?"

I grin at her, and she returns the smile. We both start laughing, while Collin looks at us like we are insane. The best ones are.

"Girls" he mutters under his breath.

"So I heard you punched Logan, and then slapped his girlfriend." Spencer said, laughing still.

"Fucking rumors"

"So you didn't do that?"

I slapped Emerson, and insulted Melanie."

"You guys haven't spoken in months" Collin said, mouth full.

"Yeah well, he almost tried to kill me on his bike this morning"

"He tried to kill you?!" Spencer yelled, blue eyes wide.

"Shut up Spence, god. And well yeah... I was driving this morning and him and his stupid ass bike cut me off"

"That's hardly trying to cut you off Vi,"

I looked at Collin like he was the dumbest thing I've ever laid eyes on... well Emerson beats him but still.

"You weren't in the car Col!  And then he didn't even say sorry." I fold my arms grumpily, and look down.

"Sorry Vi, I was just sayin. Anyways why do you hate him so much? We've been friends our whole highschool life and you've never told us. Images start forming behind my eyes of two kids laughing, running, and free. The memory changes to stormy green eyes, glaring, not a care given on a gorgeous but heartbreaker face. This was too much. My breathing speeds up, and I start shaking. Its been a while since this has happened, and I need to get out.

"Vi? What's wrong, are you okay?" Spence sounds worried, but I wouldn't know because my vision blurs.

I push the chair back quickly and start to run. I run past people giving me weird looks, and out the cafeteria doors. I don't stop running till my eyes focus on two people in front of me. And that's when I break. Tears start falling down my face and I run faster. I make it to my car and slump down in the seat. My eyes burn, and my breath is ragged but I cant seem to stop crying. The pain hit me like a tidal wave, and I was too far gone to pull myself up.
