a freckled face and sunkissed skin
greet me warmly when i wake
reminding me of where we've been
of choices we've begun to makeeyelashes tickling rosy cheeks
softer than the cotton below
laughs that can be heard for weeks
for reasons that remain unknownthe night ahead is full of tears
woeful as it seems to be
reminding us of why we're here
and just how much you mean to mecarefully caressing harmless hands
and intertwining souls as well
the night was spent creating plans
to leave the past upon which we dwellto our chambers we reside
the moon whispers her soft breath
silencing our tears, now dried
and sentencing the sun to deathas our dark tears plague our dreams
we sleep in hope of a better day
a day thats closer than it seems
when the sun will remove the clouds of gray
