Chapter 8:
The next four days passed without seeing Bruno was weakening, he called me the next day after the gather at Jaime's backyard telling he'd be in a couple of job interviews. Since the day he moved in LA with me everyday and anywhere I go he goes that he said he looks worthless beside me and not worthy of me so I thought it's about time for him to do whatever he wants and if that was getting a good job then I'd let him. But after that call I never heard from him again, even a single message in my phone saying 'I'm Okay' didn't happen, I'm began over thinking things, like could he possibly bump in to some sexy hot blond wearing skimpy clothing and monster heels then he compared her to me become a little less interesting to him or maybe he got really bored with me? I literally shook my head to remove those crazy thoughts of insecurity in me. I trust Bruno, I know he loves me enough to tell me 'Things between us weren't working anymore' or 'I found someone new' I growl, I should really stop this.
I got dressed and drive downtown to meet Kristine.
“Lia!” Kristine came rushing down to me from Krispy Kreme's front door, “I missed you!” She squealed waiting for me to get out of the car.
“I know, I missed you too!” I hugged her tightly “How did Hawaii goes when we left?”
“It gets better” She pull away from me leaving an arm reach distance between us before she starts telling stories “Presley and I went skinny dipping into Tahiti's pool!” She grinned.
“You're kidding!” I gaped,
“Nope” she laughed out loud I guess having the picture flashed back in her mind “We were so drunk and crazy!” I should be there with them by that time if it weren't for my god damn work. I sigh.
“Maybe you guys can do it again with me then?”
“Of course. When they visit--” I cut her off with my appalled face “What?” she said shockingly,
“They're coming?” I asked,
“Yes they were planning on it before I left” I grinned big that it hurts, but it didn't. “That's great! But for now maybe we should go inside” I look inside the barely crowded place we're planning to have breakfast. Kristine nods then follow me inside.
“So how was Bruno?” she finally asked after tons of story telling in what I've missed in Hawaii. “He's okay” I murmured, as we take our seats “Well I think he is” look up to her but she probably didn't hear what I said cause she's frantically waving to someone behind me.
“Kris! When did you came back?” Melody asked, stopping close to our table with Rose and Abby at her trail. “Yesterday” Kristine answered smiling to them,
“I was so exhausted so I'd decided to just hit the bed and made my appearance today” she beamed,
“Well, you don't change a bit” Rose chimed in that made Kristine rolled her eyes on her “I was in Hawaii for business reason and in only a month, what do you expect?”
“That you get tanner?” I joined the eye rolling to how dumb this throwback was. “Sorry, I was busy checking out Hawaiianos the entire time that I forgot about sun bathing” she snort.
“Don't you want to sit-- Oh?” Ray saw who the girls were talking to and do a mental calculation for a moment, “How long have you been back? How was Hawaii for you?” he asked flatly, “Good” she answered uninterested, I don't know what's going on with this two but I could feel there's something wrong. “Right” Ray mindlessly blurt, wow! Just what the hell happen with the both of them?
