Chapter 10

I see a dark shadow in the kitchen. And he plunders all my cabinets. I quickly take a look around the corner and I see a stranger with a black hood. I gather all my courage although I was shaking of fear. ,,Hello?'' The stranger abruptly turns around and looks in my direction. He's coming closer. It seems to be a man. I swear I could just hear my heart beating. Now the stranger is like 5 meters away from me.

He takes out a gun really fast and I startle. He's still coming closer. Now I'm against the wall and he holds the gun against my head. I've never been so scared in my life ever before.

I hear a shot popping against the wall and then it bangs against my thigh. I fall onto the ground and the masked man runs out of my house.

My thigh hurts so much. I feel the blood flowing out of my leg and on my hand. I need to get help. If not I will die here tonight.

After a while I finally get to grab my cell phone and call Abigail. It rings for a few seconds ,,Please pick up the phone!!!'' I whisper to myself in pain. ,,Dan? What's the matter?'' Finally.

Abigails POV

I wake up in the middle of the night because my phone rings. It's Dan. Why is he calling me? I pick up the phone ,,Dan? What's the matter?'' ,,Ughh... Abigail- I can't.....'' ,,Dan? What's going on?'' I get awake immediately because I feel there's something wrong. ,,Call an ambulance cuz I-" and then it went silent. ,,OMG DAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!'' I immediately get downstairs to get the telephone. I call the ambulance while Dan's still on my phone. ,,Dan please hold on. I'm coming and also the ambulance is coming!'' I pick my moms keys of her car and start driving as fast as I could. After about 5 minutes I arrived. The ambulance was already there. When I got out of the car I saw Dan lying in the ambulance. I run to the Emergency Physicians and asked what was going on. My heart was beating so loud like it never did before and I started crying when I saw Dan lying on the ambulance bed. ,,WHAT HAPPENED???'' I ask almost screaming. A man comes in my way and tries to hold me back from the ambulance. ,,This man was shot in his thigh. Are you family of the man who lives here?'' ,,Uhmmm no but I'm his girlfriend and I called the ambulance.'' I said out of breath. And I know we didn't were a couple but I just said I was his girlfriend. But why was he shot? And was he alright? Because on the phone it sounded really bad. ,,Is he going to be alright?'' I ask crying. ,,I can't say that yet. We are trying to resuscitate him.'' ,,Omg...'' was all I could get out of my mouth at that moment. And I feel how I'm slowly falling to the ground.
