His hazel eyes burned into me as I stared at him. He took two long strides towards me, bending down to press his lips to my ear, as his hands went to my waist. "I told you to do as I say. And if anyone has an inkling that you aren't my girlfriend, I'll destroy you, Miss Adams, and trust me, no one will ever hire you within any of the five boroughs." I'm sure to any on looker, it would've looked like we were having a tender moment, but the look in my eyes and his would've told them otherwise. "Now, get your ass into line and make sure you're on your best behavior." His tone was biting and I shrunk under his touch.
Until he did the unthinkable...his lips pressed gently against mine, his fingers around the curve of my neck, pulling me close to him. He took my breath away within seconds and I lost myself in Nick for the first time, melting into his hold, my lips moving against his, gently. His hand tangled in mine, brushing against the exposed skin of my leg as he brought our hands to his chest, somehow our bodies melding against each others. When he pulled away from me, our chests heaved, and I still couldn't believe he kissed me in such a heated moment. "I hate you," I whispered, breathless and wondering if everyone was watching us. And they were.
"Likewise, sweetheart," he muttered, his lips still a breadth away from mine.
