Chapter 6

(Kells' P.O.V.)

    I blew up her phone. What the hell did I do? I thought things were going well. She called me.
    "Hey what's going on?" I asked her.
    "Im one of your bitches? How do you think that made me feel?" She said and I can tell she was crying.
    "Where are you? We can meet somewhere or I can come to you or you can come here. I don't care. It is better if we talk in person. Please, Rosey. I need you right now."
    "I will come inside. I've been sitting out in my car. I didn't know if you stayed home or if you came after me."
    "Ok. Come on in. The door is unlocked." The door opened and she looked at me. Tears where still rolling down her face. I got up and wrapped her in a tight hug. "I told you she's a bitch. She just is upset someone else is getting close to her daughter. Just ignore her ok?" She shook her head in agreement and the hugged me tight and burried her head into my chest. Then my phone started ringing. I pulled back, gave her a kiss on the forehead and answered it.
    "Come get her. Im packing her stuff now. I am not taking this crap. She is disrespectful and I'm done with it. Her stuff will be ready in an half an hour. Be here by then." Emma hung up the phone. I couldn't believe what I just heard. She is willingly giving me custody of my daughter. I got all excited then remembered i dont have a car.
    "What was that about?" Rosey was looking up at me.
    "She is giving me my daughter but I dont have a car to go get her stuff."
    "Why didnt you say so, lets get going. We'll take my car. I am pretty sure we will have enough room for her stuff. C'mon, Col, let's go get your daughter." We ran out to her car and she drove us to Emma's apartment. Emma was bringing stuff out to the front yard already. Rose got out of the car and Casie saw her. She ran up to Rose and Rose picked her up and held her tight. Carrying Casie, Rose opened the trunk and Emma and I started loading Casie's clothes and toys. Rose put Casie in her carseat and started helping us pack Casie's stuff into the car. We got it all packed in there and the last thing Emma handed me was a stack of papers. They were court papers. She removed all her rights from Casie. Why is she being like this? This is her own daughter. Rose pulled me to the side as Emma walked away.
    "She has bruises on her face and warms. Kells, she's getting beat here. We are taking her to the ER right now and if there is any other bruising or injuries, we are going straight to the courts." All I saw was red. Why the fuck would someone beat on my daughter? I got so angry. I started walking and Rose grabbed my arm. "Colson, stop. You can't go take it out on her or someone else. Let's go to the hospital and get her checked out." We got it the car and drove straight to the hospital. We got her checked in and they took her back. Rose had to stay in the Waiting Room because she's not Casie's biological mother. They took xrays and other tests to make sure that she didnt have any major injuries. The doctor came back after her results came back and asked me to step out into the hallway. He looked at me and sighed.
    "We always hate delivering this kind of news to parents. I'm sorry to inform you, Mr. Baker, but your daughter has been going through this for quite some time. She has deep bruises that still havent healed completely. If you want to we can file a police report. If you know who could have done this, it will help us a lot." I was speechless. She has been beating my daughter and i never even noticed. My new girlfriend noticed way before I did. Why didnt i notice when she bawled everytime i had to take her home. I started to cry. That was my babygirl. And she has been hurting for so long and i never noticed. I am supposed to protect her and i couldnt do that. The doctor brought Rose back and she wrapped me in a hug.
    "They told me, baby. Im so sorry. We will figure this out together. Do you want the police called for this?" I couldnt say anything, I just nodded my head. She told the doctor Emma's name and they went to file the report. About 20 minutes later, cops showed up to talk to us. This got too overwelming for me. We got the report filed and they went after Emma. The doctors said they were going to keep Casie for a couple more hours to mske sure no blood clots start. I sat there in the room and stared at my Baby girl. She was sleeping. Why could i have let this happen?

*A few hours later*

    The doctors walked back in the room to do the remaining tests. They left. I sat there for another 20 minutes and they came back with the results.
    "Mr. Baker, we have good news. Your daughter is getting better and no blood clots have formed. She is able to go home today. If anything happens major with her after she leaves though bring her directly back here. She should be ok though. I hope you guys have a good rest of your day. Congratulations on the custody of your daughter." They handed me,the discharge papers, I signed them and we got Casie changed and headed out the door. The minute we stepped a foot out the door, we were bombarded by the pops. This is gunna be a long day.
