Chapter 11: "I'm not made out of metal"

My eyes open as I regain consciousness. I look around and notice I'm in my room at Ma's house. I sit up and look around my room, everything seemed to be clean and in place which made me even more confused. Why am I at Ma's house? What happened? As I look around my room trying to figure out what happened I notice snow sticking to my window. A grin spreads across my face as I excitedly get out from my bed and slide open my window. I enter my balcony and smile at the cloudy grey sky and the white blanket of snow sticking to the forest trees. I breath in the cold scent of the woods and the snow before holding my head back and letting out a powerful howl. My howl is thrown into the snowy sky and it dances into the forest around me. I stop abruptly as I hear my door open with a bang, a growl erupts from my chest and my canines extend, ready to attack the person who barged in.

A surprised but worried Tobias stands in front of my room looking at me with his piercing grey eyes. Although I knew it was Tobias my wolf took control and all she was thinking about was protecting me. She didn't see her mate at the moment, all she saw was an intruder who could cause harm so she extended my jaw and showed her teeth in warning. She snarled in Tobias's direction and by the look in his eyes I knew my eyes had changed.

"Katherine" he says slowly before taking a slow step towards me. My wolf growls in warning and Tobias retreats back. I was confused, not because of why my wolf was being over protective and cautious but because he wasn't taking charge. He could easily use his Alpha tone and make my wolf submit, but he wasn't. Which is odd, Tobias is an Alpha even if he was my mate he would take control of the situation. My wolf was angry and so was I but I didn't know why. This anger coursed through my veins like fire. It not only made my wolf powerful but it scared the crap out of me. I could feel magic, darkness and anger charge me in a way that I've never felt before, I wanted to take control but my wolf wouldn't let me, she pushed me to the back and although I fought she kept winning: I didn't want to hurt Tobias but something inside me told my wolf and I that we needed to fight and we needed to use this dark power to our advantage.

"I'm not going to hurt you" he states, my wolf huffs and growls in response. Tobias looks at us before he starts kneeling, my wolf snarls at his movements but he doesn't make direct contact. He continues to kneel which is a sign of submission, my wolf stops growling but keeps her sharp gaze on the Alpha. Tobias looks up, his eyes neither grey or calming but yellow and demanding.

My wolf stays still before kneeling as well, I tried stopping her but she took control. Kneeling was a sign of respect and acceptance towards one mate towards another but I wasn't ready to accept him or this mate bond. Before she completed the kneel I snarled and growled before trying to take control of my wolf. She fought but so did I, Tobias stood up and tried stepping towards us but Ma' stopped him with a tug of his arm.

My wolf wouldn't resist but neither would it, I fought and fought like hell for my mind and my body. "I'm in control!" I snarled at her, she stopped her fight and went quiet. She gave me my control back and I collapsed on the floor from exhaustion, the darkness that once soured through my veins was now gone leaving me without energy. Before I could hit the floor Tobias caught me in time, I felt his warmth and where his hands landed I felt exploding sparks that made me whimper.

I couldn't look at him, I couldn't. I wanted to accept him as my mate, I wanted to be happy with someone but I couldn't endanger myself or the people I love anymore. So with a tug I removed myself from him and hugged myself before looking at Ma'. I've never felt like that ever, the anger and the fought for control was new to me.

"W-why" I whispered, Ma' looked at me with her soft but yet firm brown eyes. She looked scared which frightened me even more because she never got scared. "You had to fight?" She asks and I nod, Tobias looks at her and she at him in a silent conversation. I growl a vicious growl which surprised me "what the hell is going on with me?" I spat angrily. Ma' looks at Tobias knowingly, he nods and grabs me, I could feel my eyes turning black and the fire in my veins return "get off of me!" I spat, trying to resist and remove myself away from me. Ma' held a needle in her hand before injecting me with a strange red liquid. My body went soft and my mind went foggy as the liquid was inserted into my system and before I knew what was going on, I passed out.

I wake up once again in my room, the snow still beautiful as ever but the sky even darker. I try getting up but my hand is chained, I try removing it but hiss as I touch the silver. I scream in pain and my palm burns and sizzles, Tobias enters the room in his almighty glory.
"You're awake"
