Jack stands, staring at the mirror in front of him.  Slowly he starts to flex his muscles, turning to the side and breathing in before exhaling with a puff.  If anything came from the last two years, it was that he got so comfortable that he stopped hitting the gym.  Kali.  One of the best Chefs in town. His now ex girlfriend.  Two damn years wasted.

Who was to know she'd end up leaving him for a young sous chef just two weeks ago.

Facing the mirror head on, he lifted both arms and flexed.  At least his job as a builder kept his arms and shoulders buff.  Maybe it was time to work on slimming down a bit though. Nah. Stuff it. Who the hell has time for anything when work is so full on and busy!

Running a hand through his hair, Jack whirled around and headed out of the bathroom.  The boys were still at it over by the dart board, loads of empty bottles that filled the table up as quickly as the barmaid could clear them up.

I can't believe she left me.  Bitch.

"Jack! Get your arse over here! Tommy reckons his dart hit the bulls eye and bounced out. Bloody tricks....."Max shouted out to him as he started to move across the bar.  Jack grinned.  These boys nights out after work had been his saving grace since Kali had left. Kali.  Legs long enough to wrap around the waist and more.  Hair golden and soft. Eyes that made you...

"Jack!! Bloody hell mate, wake the hell up! So am I right or not? Tell him. No damn cheating on boys nights out!!"  Jack laughed as he reached the dart board.  Looking at the board, then down at the dart on the ground, he picked it up before shoving it with one thrust into the bulls eye.  "Yep, I reckon that's a bulls eye if ever there was one. Nice one Tommy!"

Max starts spouting off while all the rest of the boys starting cracking up.  Tommy and Jack raise a bottle and cheers with a laugh before downing them in one hit.

"You know Jack, you need to get out more mate.  Join a gym or something, get out and do something to get your mind off things.. other than constantly getting on the piss with this lot!"  Tommy nodded his head at the boys.  Jack looked around and nodded.

"Yeah, I know Tommy.  But right now the boys are exactly what I need to get my head around all the shit that's been going on."  Jack swiped another bottle from the table and took a long swig from it.

And they were. Work all day on the site.  Piss up with the boys each night.  He'd end up crawling home, not remembering much of it and thankful to drop into a mindless sleep.  Only to wake up and do it all again the next day.  Until he got to Sundays.  His only day off in the week.  Yesterday had been Sunday.  God he hated Sundays.  Laying in bed, nothing to do.  Thinking of her. Kali.  Their 2 year habit of laying in late on a Sunday morning, talking until finally they got up and made brunch together.  Best thing about being with a chef.. no longer with her. Kali.

"To the boys!!!" Jack suddenly yelled, lifting his beer high in the air to cheers the boys before throwing it back so quickly it barely had time to wet his throat.

Damn Kali.

It had been another long day at work. 30 degrees Celsius and Jack wished he could have headed off to the bar with the boys again.  He really needed that drink.  But.  Well.  Couldn't really turn his parents down a 3rd time for dinner in a row.  He knew they were worried.  They liked Kali too.

Turning into their driveway, he opened his door and prepared himself for the barreling mass of fur that came screaming out the front door.  "Mosley! Come here boy! Good boy! Yeah, I missed you too boy!! Whats Mom cooking huh? Come on, lets go in Mose".
