A/n: above is what Karson looks like after meeting Mark

+no one pov+

The room smelt of whiskey and sweat.

Rowdy men surrounded the bar while woman in heels and drunken men grinded against each other on a dance floor not more then 10 steps away.

Ross Rosa Bar was no place for a teenage girl to be sat inside.

But that's  where Karson was.

In some sleezy little bar with her hood up, avoiding the bodies that tried to knock her off her feet.

She was significantly shorter than everyone there and easy to recognize as too young to be there,  but nobody said a word to her as she shoved through people  and sat at the bar,  laying her head on the bar's surface.

She didn't want anyone to see her crying,  it wasn't what people did in this world.

She had to be strong and fight off the emotions.  She planned on using the money she had taken from home the night before when no one knew she was there or saw her to buy her self a drink.  It wouldn't be the first time she had ever drank.  Hell, it wouldn't even be the last time either.

She had only been gone a week and there was already an amber alert out for her.

They only did that because Kellin didn't want to look like an Asshole.

The voices were never silent anymore.  Not even when she smoke or drank.

"Aren't you a little young to be in here?"

A gruff voice beside her caused Karson to jump slightly.

Glaring at the college aged kid that spoke to her,  she looked him up and down.

"That's  none of your damn business,  Asshole."

The kid smirked and bit his lip, looking the teenager in front of him up and down.

She wore all black,  suggesting she had been trying to hide out.

"alright.  You going anywhere tonight?"

Karson rolled her eyes and ignored the kid,  getting the attention of a bartender.

The bartender looked Karson over before cocking an eyebrow.

"I'm going to need some ID"

Karson smirked before pulling out a fake ID,  one Keliez had made weeks ago.

It stated that Karson was not Karson but Alex and that she was 25, not 14.

"You're awful short for 25."

"yeah,  I know."

The bartender got Karson a drink, the kid next to her still trying to talk to her.

"I'm Mark, by the way."

Karson gave the stranger a flirtatious smile that wasn't actually real.

"Alex."

-

The night dragged on and Karson was still god knows where.

Copeland was growing everyday,  Vic and Kellin grew to love her even more,  and grew closer to each other.

The manager for Sleeping was insisting they needed to start touring again,  saying that they would do so in three days time,  weather they had found Karson by then or not.

Kellin was losing it slowly,  Vic the only one to keep him sane.

They went to the police after Karson hadn't come back for two days.  The two days turned in to two weeks and Kellin was loosing hope.

Copeland started crawling and making more baby sounds then before,  oblivious to the missing teenager.

But that was life.  And it had to carry on.

-

"Alex,  please,  I'll pay for everything."

Karson, or, well 'Alex' sighed and shrugged,  getting off the other bed in the dorm.

The kid from the bar had offered her to stay with him in his dorm for a week,  his roommate away on family vacation.

"alright,  fine. You're  going to have to come shopping for a concert outfit though."

Karson had completely changed her appearance,  dying her hair, getting a few tattoos,  and getting piercings.  Even go as far as cutting her hair just a bit shorter then it was before and curling it enough for it to be wavy.

Mark nodded quickly,  grabbing his keys and wallet.

Karson smirked  to herself,  knowing that she would finally go home.

She hadn't aloud herself to for the last two weeks, telling herself if she did so then she wouldn't have gotten the courage or strength to change for the better.

Following Mark out to his Car,  Karson waved at a few of the other college kids they passed in the hall.

"So ready for this" Mark exclaimed when they got in the car.

Karson didn't bother with asking before she turned on the radio,  turning the volume up when she heard  Shinedown's Asking For It playing through the speakers.

Her and her new found friend sang along as they drove to the mall.

Just 20 miles away, Kellin Quinn and the rest of SWS,  along with Vic,  looked for Karson in every place her friends said she hid out for the fifteenth time that day.

-

"Damn,  look at you,  Punk Rock poster child."

Karson laughed and struck a pose in the bright pink sundress.

They had already bought both of their concert outfits.

Now they were just messing around in the stores.

After going back to the changing room and getting back into her own clothes,  Karson stepped out and threw the strapless dress at Mark.

"let's see you work it,  Mr.  I'm  so gay I should be a rainbow."

Mark laughed and flipped his red hair.

"for your info,  I'm pan,  and bitch you know I would rock anything rainbow."

Karson laughed as he went into a changing room.  Walking back out, the dress actually fit him well and looked good on him.  He gave Karson a twirl while she clapped and whistled.

An employee came back and told them they needed to leave,  a customer had complained they were too loud.

After that they left the mall and headed back to the dorms.

The next day would be their concert date.

The next day they would see Sleeping With Sirens.

And Karson couldn't be more scared for her future.
