I sat down in my seat looking at my father and mother who look at Dave. Kairi was eating my mother food while Kaitlyn was looking at Dave like he was a snack. My father didn't like Dave. I can tell he didn't.
"So Dave, what do you do in New York?"my mother ask.
"I rap. I'm a rapper from New York"Dave said.
"Oh okay"my mom nod her head.
"So, have you ever went to high school?"my dad ask.
"What you trying to say? I look like an uneducated man to you"Dave said.
"What, no"my dad chuckle. "Are you?"
"Nah man, I went to high school and college. I have a degree already but I love music"Dave said. "Is that a problem?"
"So, you also have a daughter. And want my Keegan to take care of her"my dad said.
"Dad!"I semi yelled.
"I'm just saying"
"No sir. My daughter goes wherever I go. After her mother threw her into my arms, I can't let her stay with her no more"Dave said. "Your daughter don't have to look after kairi for me"
"I like your attitude son"my dad nod his head. He smile at Dave which was a first. "Welcome to the family Dave"
Dave nudge me and smile. "Thank you Mr. Dover"
"Call me Kelly"my dad said.
That night, my mom and dad talk to Dave more then me. Like I wasn't here to them. Kaitlyn was helping kairi with her food. It was like I was invisible. But it's good that my dad and mom getting along with Dave. I wanted that.
"Keegan, when is y'all leaving?"my mom ask.
"Ummmm"I look at Dave.
"Like this Monday"Dave said. "I'm on a business trip"he said making my dad laugh.
"That's what I tell my coworkers. I'm on a business trip"my dad laugh with Dave. I was getting tired and needed to rest for a minute.
I stood up grabbing my wine glass. "Where you going babygirl?"my dad ask.
"I-I need to rest"I walk out the dinning room to my bedroom which was downstairs. Me and my sister bedroom was downstairs just in case if there was a fire. I put down my wine glass and laid down in bed. I look at the pills that was on the dresser.
My best friend down the street came over earlier and gave me them pills. She wanted to have fun again. But not tonight. I'm tired.
