What I do for love

Chapter one

I brush my wet brown hair as the birds chirp outside the windows. It was the first day of summer,  and a month before my sweet 16. I stop brushing my hair putting it down as I stare at my palish skin. I stand up and walk out onto my balcony smiling at the birds.

"Morning birds!" I beam then I gasp realizing something. "It's the summer festival!" I rush back into my room grabbing my blue gown. I quickly get dressed and put my hair up in a high ponytail. As I run out of my room I grab my book bag.

"Eliza! Where you going?" Jenny yells stepping out of her room

I halt to a stop "the festival!"

"It just started! Aren't you going to eat?"

"I know that it just started but I have to get to the book stand before it gets busy!"

She sighs "you and your books. You are seriously married to them!"

"Yes I am!" I nod and run out of castle and straight to the festival.

"Eliza! I was wondering when you would get here!" The clerk at the book stand. "I saved you my new books about our and human's history. Also, stories about the humans."

I pull my money out "how much?"

He shakes his head "no, but that away! They are free! Definitely for some who has beautiful green eyes."

I giggle and take a handful out after he hands me the books "keep it." I put my books away then notice a very old beating up book. The writing was impossible to read. "What's this?" I point to the book

"I don't know, I never seen it before."

"Can I buy it?" I ask with a beam on my face

"Of course!" He nods, "you don't have to pay, you already gave me too much for the books you already bought."

"Thanks!" I smile and put all my new books away

Then church bells ring meaning that summer had officially started. I beam as I around and see my older sister Gabby with a knowing look. Gabby was 18.

"What are you thinking?" She sings knowing that I was thinking of doing something stupid.

I put my book into my book bag, "oh, nothing." I wanted to sound like I wasn't planning on doing anything

"I know you are thinking something." Jenny joins our conversation. Jenny was the youngest, at 11.

"Tell us Eliza!" Gabby exclaim.

"Follow me," I respond as I disappears into the crowd. They are my sisters, they won't tell father. Right?

"ELIZA!" Jenny yells and I sigh knowing that she drawing attention to herself.

"Slow down!" I hear Gabby tell Jenny

Once I made out of the town square and to the edge of the woods. I turn to my sisters who finally caught up to me. "This is gonna sound crazy but. I think that I should tell you."

"What?" My sisters ask worried.

"I may or may not have been going to the human's kingdom for the past year or so."

"WHAT?!" Gabby yells angry at me. There she goes! Being the overprotective sister!

"Look, I have a friend there. They have cloaks for me. They have three. Come on, it would be fun!" I beg

"Daddy said not to go!" Jenny crosses her arms.

"You can! I do!" I explain then away from my sisters a smirk on my face.

"Eliza Abby  Blue! Do not go!" Gabby reaches out the grab my hand.

"No!" I yell and sprints off into the woods.

"ELIZAAAA!!!" Jenny yells after me

I knew that Gabby would be angry at me but I wanted to bring them! Plus, the humans have a ball today! I think... I'm not sure if it's today or tomorrow but still. If they came, I could introduce them to my friends! And, we could get dresses!

This is gonna be fun!
