^Barasa
I wipe the sweat from my brow and release a breath. Fuck, it's hot.
I readjust my shades and lean further over the balcony. Anytime now...
I watch the people below with indifference, I only care about one person, and he's late.Rude.
I slump down with a huff and take out my phone, no new messages. I feel a tingle at the back of my neck... Someone is watching me. I run my finger over my ring to summon my Jinn, Barasa."Someone is watching me. Do a perimeter check."
My ring heats up, before becoming cool.
"A fucking hello, would be nice Ti" Barasa mutters, peering down at me.
I roll my eyes and shake my head, he's in a mood today. Barasa is a Jinn, humans call them Genies and think they live in bottles. This is not true, Jinn are connected to a heart stone when they are born and will die if separated too long from their life source. I rescued Barasa from a demon, who was holding him, hostage, using him as a slave. I gave him his freedom and he chose to stay and protect me. He's my best friend, and the only family I have. I shake off my thoughts and focus on my task, raising my nose, I inhale deeply and catch the scent. Looking over the balcony again I clock the broad shoulders and mop of blond hair.
"Barasa" I hiss. With a roll of his eyes, Barasa disappears. I keep an eye on the blonde, he's dressed in a simple pair of jeans and a dark blue button-up shirt. He looks so relaxed, in his element, it's always the fucking monsters who seem to enjoy life. As if he can hear my thoughts he glances up and meets my eyes, I relax my face into a sultry smirk. He raises a brow and searches my face, I lean back and slowly cross my legs, revealing my toned brown legs. As his gaze travels down my legs I see a pinch of interest in his lips and I grin. I've got him.
I slowly lower my shades and break eye contact. Barasa words carried by the breeze reach my ears, "He's got two men shadowing him, I've already marked them. There are four men guarding a room on the fifth floor, that's where you'll find them."
I nod and take note of the men with the pink circles above their heads. All of them are elves, the nasty bastards. Elves are a male-dominated species with one out of eighty-six elves being born female. Females are coveted and deemed weak, misogyny is strong with this one. They only do business with men, hence why I staged Barasa as the buyer of their merchandise.
Standing up, I brushed the crumbs from my lap and chugged the rest of my drink. Time to party.
