Everyday, Lucy Heartfilia goes out to dance on the beach as the sun sets, bathing the sand, water, and herself in the marvelous colors of fire. Everybody in the town of Hargeon knew her; the sad, rich orphan girl. Nobody had ever heard her talk, and nobody bothered to speak with her. Nobody knew why she danced.
One day, a man named Natsu Dragneel came, interested in the sea life and business, for he loved to fish. He brought nothing but money, clothes, and his little, odd blue cat Happy. He also brought his brother, Romeo Dragneel.
One day, Wendy Heartfilia, Lucy's little sister, became best friends with Romeo at school. And so it happened, Natsu heard the 'legend' of Lucy Heartfilia, the Fire Dancer.
~Third Person's POV---The Heartfilia House~
"So who exactly do you live with?" Natsu asked, confused. "I live with my older sister, Lucy Heartfilia. You'll never see her though, unless you go to the beach around, oh, 6 PM." Wendy answered, pulling Romeo into the kitchen. A weirded out Natsu followed.
All three of them sat at the bar counter and talked with each other, learning about each other's pasts and hopes for the future.
See, Natsu and Romeo were at the Heartfilia Mansion because Wendy had invited Romeo over to finish a class project. Natsu had driven Romeo, and was now, in a way, babysitting them.
"My mother died when Lucy was five and when I was about a year old. Father blamed it all on Lucy, and started to hurt her, physically and mentally, when she was only seven years old. Father then died a month ago, on Lucy's eighteen birthday. She then became my legal guardian." Wendy explained, eating a chocolate chip muffin. "So how old are you?" Natsu asked. "Well, Lucy is four years older than me, so that makes me fourteen." she says. "Oh yea, it is December 31st, which means most birthdays are over." Romeo comments.
Suddenly a women with bright golden hair and chocolate brown eyes disappers out the door and catches Natsu's eye. "Who was that?" he asked. "Oh that was Lucy!" laughs Wendy, standing and taking Romeo to her room, a confused Natsu right behind them.
~The Beach~
Like always, Lucy Heartfilia was at the beach. She was wearing a flame colored bikini top and black bikini bottom, with a see through, lace, flame colored skirt.
She looked out to the water and sighed. Like every day, she began to dance. People passed by, but never stopped to talk. The only person she talked to were Wendy and a select few of her house staff.
Her staff included the librarian Levy, head of security Erza, maid Juvia, and two of the lesser securities, Gray and Gajeel. Oh, and the waiters Mira, Lisanna, and Elfman.
The sun set fully, and she stopped her dance, sighing. She sat on the sand, and closed her eyes, trying to pull up some memories of her mother. It had been harder to remember her mother's face lately.
"Lucy!" yelled someone, and the blonde whipped around. "Lucy why were you out so late?" shouts Wendy, leaping into her arms. "I'm sorry my little Sky Sorceress." Lucy mumbled into her ear, smiling. Suddenly, Lucy noticed to two strangers standing behind Wendy and went silent. She also saw Gray and Gajeel, and gave them quick hugs.
She glanced at the strangers, and Wendy saw. "Oh, Lucy, this is Natsu Dragneel and his younger brother, Romeo Dragneel. Romeo is my partner for classwork, so he'll be coming over often." Wendy explained. Lucy nodded wordlessly and turned away. "What's your deal?" asks Natsu bluntly. "Bad move." Gray laughs.
"Natsu! You never ask why she doesn't talk!" gasps Wendy, looking at an angry Lucy. Suddenly Lucy's foot swung through the air and seconds later Natsu was on the ground, groaning in pain. "Natsu!" yells Romeo, kneeling by his brother's side.
Wendy makes a little squeaking sound, but quickly composes herself. "Lucy, can we dance?" she asks nervously. Lucy nods, and faces the water, as Wendy does the same.
~Author- They do the dance in the video above~
"That dance is so beautiful Lucy." sighs Wendy after they finish. Lucy nods, and looks at Natsu and Romeo, who are both just staring at the girls. "Mother taught me the dance when I was just four years old." Lucy whispers in Wendy's ear, careful not to let anyone else hear. "It's kinda inappropriate." Romeo snorts, a smile on his face.
~Natsu's POV~
Lucy is really beautiful. She doesn't talk, but I feel like I can hear her talking through her dancing. I do think i'm starting to fall for this Lucy Heartfilia. But why on Earthland would she ever love me back?
~Third Person's POV---The Heartfilia House~
Lucy ate silently and watched Romeo and Wendy working. Natsu attempted multiple times to get her to talk, and failed. "You really look like you're on fire when you dance." he said at last, giving up. Lucy just nodded, and went up to her room.
Natsu sighed as Lucy left, kinda sad that she didn't trust him enough to talk to him. Then again, they had met less than an hour ago. Wendy didn't go around just trusting people; ok, maybe she would, but still. He would just have to wait.
Soon, Romeo and Natsu left and Wendy was left alone in the kitchen. As soon as the door shut, she heard singing.
"Fairy, where are you going?
I'm holding, all the light on to your way; this light will shine upon a brand new day!
(Oh yeah!) Now can you hear the voice that's calling out to you?
(Oh yeah!) Though I know its shouts have caused its overuse.
(Oh yeah!) But will it stay until your heart can hear it through?
(Oh yeah!) OH YEAH!
The sun and moon have joined in celebration;
Have you forgotten our affiliation?
When you're not here to share your laughter with me,
I just can't find my inspiration, but now it's:
Snowing, keep going; be honest and smile as we're,
Approaching, evoking, the clock to keep repeating over, but,
Fairy, where are you going?
I'm holding, all the light on to your way; this light will shine upon a brand new day!
{(Why?!) x3}
Don't say goodbye!"Wendy ran up the stairs and saw Lucy smiling as she twirled around the room. This put a smile on Wendy's face; it was very rare when her sister acted carefree like this.
Now, Otakus, for the Fairy Tail Words of Wisdom!
