Y'know in chapter two I said wait for an update next year and
it's been a year
Sorry about that. However, a lot of you really seem to like this story and want me to update, and I've finally got some inspiration!-
It had been about three days since Hau had seen Gladion. Since then, he'd gone to the Lush Forest, and beat Mallow's trial, despite having a fair amount of difficulty with the totem Pokémon. It had taken two tries, and after the second try he'd decided to train his Pokémon more.
Shrugging, Hau walked to Route 5. He needed to train more, despite having won. After all, with Team Skull causing trouble in Alola, it would be good to have the upper hand against them. He'd been training for about two hours, before realizing that the sun was setting.
"Guess we should probably get going, huh?" Hau said to his Pikachu, before putting it into its pokeball, and turning around to leave. He could go back through the Lush Jungle into the town beyond, but instead chose to go back to Paniola Ranch.
He walked into the Pokémon Center and gave the nurse his Pokémon, before sitting down on one of the chairs. Yawning, he checked his watch, before planning out his next day. He could take on the next trial, or instead spend some time looking for new Pokémon. Maybe he could just explore the island, or spend some more time training. Whatever the case, he was exceptionally tired.
"Your Pokémon are fighting fit!" the nurse said as she handed Hau his Pokémon. Hau smiled at her, before leaving the Pokémon Center. The sun was nearly down now, so he decided now was a better time than later to find somewhere to sleep.
Hau walked into a hotel, going up to the counter.
"Can I get a room for one night, please?" Hau asked.
"Of course! It'll be 3000 Pokédollars." The woman at the counter replied, smiling at him.
Hau frowned. Did he even have that much money? Sure, he'd won some money from completing Mallows trial, but he'd spent a fair chunk of it on Malasadas. He opened his wallet, and pulled out 2000 Pokédollars.
"This is all I have." Hau said, putting the money on the counter.
"Then I'm very sorry, but I'm unable to give you a room." The woman replied.
"I'll pay for his room." A voice behind Hau said, before walking up next to him, and put 3000 Pokédollars on the counter.
"Gladion?" Hau said. "You really don't have to pay for my room! I can just find somewhere else, I'm sure! And besides, I don't want you to have to go-"
"God, stop talking. I owe you one anyways, remember?" Gladion replied, cutting him off. "Which room do we have?"
"You boys can have room 117." The woman informed them, before tossing them a room key.
"We're sharing a room?" Hau asked as the two of them walked up a set of stairs to reach their room.
"Yeah, you got a problem with that?" Gladion snapped, causing Hau to flinch.
"No, no, of course not! Just wondering." Hau said as they reached the room. He opened the room, before walking in. It was a fairly simple set up: one television, one small fridge, one bed, and a small desk with a phone on it.
Gladion frowned. He payed 3000 for one bed? He expected at least two beds for that much. Yet, it was too late to really do anything about it, so he decided to just ignore it.
"You can have the bed." Gladion said. "I'll just sleep on the floor or something."
"Nah, that's not fair. You're paying for the room, after all, shouldn't you have the bed?" Hau replied.
"Uh..." Gladion trailed off, mentally facepalming before continuing. "We can share the bed?" He suggested.
"Oh! That's a good idea. That'd work great for both of us!" Hau said cheerily, before lying down in the bed, Gladion reluctantly lying down afterwards.
Hau smiled. It was nice that Gladion would pay for his room, even if he was occasionally kind of rude. Surely, it must take a good person to buy a hotel room and then offer a bed to someone you hardly knew, right?
Hau fell asleep shortly afterwards.
