The Court Date [FINALE]

Hi guys,

Before we begin the FINALE, i'd just like to say thank you to everyone who has read/continues to read this story, it really brightens my day. This will be the last chapter. I've had this written for awhile now but l haven't decided when to publish it l thought now would be a good time to. I've decided to close it off because obviously there's an end to every story. I'm not into Jessa & Team 10 anymore, but l will keep the fanfic up. Love you all so much, Thank you for reading my book, l never thought it would get this many views! Enjoy the last chapter ❤️.}

*Tessa's POV:*

~l got ready for my lunch date with Jake. l put on some thigh high black boots with white jeans and a black tube top. l walked downstairs and waited for Jake. He still looked really nervous so hopefully this lunch date will clear his mind.~

Tessa: "Ready to go?"

Jake: "Yep."

*They hopped in the car and drove to the Grove and sat down at one of their favorite restaurants. Tessa ordered a panini and iced tea while Jake ordered a burger with fries and a smoothie. They ate and chatted like usual until Jake looked down at his phone and sighed.*

Tessa: "Is everything okay Jake?"

Jake: "Nick just told me that the trial is even earlier tomorrow morning.."

Tessa: "It's okay Jake relax, nothing will happen to you. The only bad thing in this situation is if nothing happens to Chance, which something will happen to him! He destroyed a house. On purpose."

Jake: "You're right i'm just overthinking, let's head back home."

*They drove back home and did work the entire rest of the day. Tessa was editing her vlog while Nick and Kade were checking emails. Meanwhile, Jake was still stressing about tomorrow morning. He just needed to sleep and relax before this got him into a bigger mess.*

*THE NEXT DAY: Jake's POV:*

*l woke up around 6:30am, enough time to unwind and get ready before the trial at 8:00am. It's a public trial but i assume no one will attend since no ones really heard about i️t. l slowly get up so i️ don't wake up Tessa and l get showered and dressed. l put on a dark navy blue suit with a dark tie. By the time i'm done it's 7:37am and Tessa is awake.*

Tessa: "Morning Jakey."

Jake: "Morning Tess, how do l look?"

Tessa: "Damnnnn Jake you look great :)"

*she says with a smile*

Tessa: "You'll do fine today, don't worry.*

*They all got ready and drove to the courthouse and got seated. Chance got walked in by 2 police officers, he looked like a mess. Jake was already sweating while Tessa and Nick were sitting in the first row nodding and mouthing "You're fine" to Jake. Tessa was nervous to see Chance but she shook it off and focused on the real situation here: getting revenge on Chance for burning down the house.*

Judge: "Good morning ladies and gentlemen. l welcome you to the trial of Chance Sutton. Both sides ready?"

District Attorney: "Ready for the people, your honor."

Defender: "Ready for defense, your honor."

Judge: "Will the clerk please swear in the jury?"

Clerk: "Will the jury please rise and raise your right hand. Do each of you swear that you will fairly try the case before this court, and that you will return a true verdict according to the evidence and the instructions of the court, so help you, God? Please say, "l do." You may be seated."

*About an hour into the trial, major action takes place.*

Defender: "So Chance, on the day of the house being burnt down you claim you were no where near the house?"

Chance: "Yes."

Defender: "May l ask where and what you were doing?"

Chance: "l was driving down to San Francisco with a few friends l met in LA awhile ago, we were shopping around and eating."

*They went back and forth for about 30 minutes until the decision was made.*

Judge: "If l recall, Mr Sutton, it has come to my attention, and i've been informed that you were, in fact, the one who has burnt down the house and is charged guilty and will be in a sentence of 35 years in prison. Case closed"

*As the court room cleared, Jake got up and walked away fast as he smiled and was relieved. Tessa and Nick went after him as they came in for a group hug.*

Tessa: "For so long we wanted justice and a
peaceful life, and now we finally have it. Our life is officially normal Jake. Team 10 is fixed."
