"My pumping organ skips a beat whenever your banner appears on the top of my phone; my breath hitches whenever you suggest jocular ideas; my stomach walls contract while surrounding a flock of winged insects whenever we exchange unintended skin contact; my apples glow whenever our paths cross; my mask falls off whenever our windows meet..."

A beam of sunlight found its way under Valerie's eyelids, she got up from her bed and stretched out her arms. It was time to get ready. Valerie opened the big wooden closet next to her. The mountains of clothes looked like they were going to tumble down any second. Valerie carefully jerked out a sky blue short sleeved sundress at the bottom of the pile. "This is it." She smiled and let out a sigh of liberation.

The queue outside Thrilltropolis was always massive as groups of people, which mostly consisted of couples who were busy conversing, holding hands, billing and cooing, continued to wait excitedly for their entry into the colourful theme park. Amongst the huge crowd was none other than Valerie Hart. The girl stood trying her hardest to control her bubbly feverishness that was just waiting to detonate within her. It was becoming increasingly gnarly for her as her anticipation kept running on to intensify with each passing second. Today was the day of her dreams would finally just come true, if nothing was going wrong. Today was the day she would finally have her first date with Sean, the boy she had always had a crush on since she was no more than eight years old.

The ringing of the park's bell resounded through the horde, the gates were about to open. Valerie took in a deep breath of air as she tried to calm her nerves, she had never actually imagined that the day would come like this and now she was pretty nervous on top of all her excitement.

I am not ready.

Her pulse was erratic, she could feel her heart beating in her eyes and throat. She squeezed her sweaty hands whilst forcing her feet to move across the entryway. By grabbing a map at the Guest Enquiry, she found her way to the Summerville Surfers which was the meetup point for the two. She plugged in her earphones as she waited for Sean.
