//Layla's POV//
Layla came home from school tired out. She couldn't be bothered to waste time getting changed so she flopped down on bed in her school uniform and kicked her shoes off. It hadn't been a rough day at school but running on no sleep made it seem much harder.

She could hear the TV downstairs where her Mum was relaxing. Layla was happy that for once she would get some peace and quiet and time to herself instead of being nagged to do homework. She turned her phone on and began to message her friend.

She and her friend would usually talk a bit and then role play with their two favourite characters. Layla would play as Cassandra Cain, one of Bruce Wayne's adopted children. She was a huge DC fan and related quite strongly to cassandra's story. Her friend Dean played as Nightwing, but he also doubled as most of the robins. They would usually role-play for hours until one of them fell asleep. It helped Layla relax and she knew Dean was always considerate of what she wanted to do. He made her feel special and really appreciated which was a rare feeling for her.

She sat waiting for his reply and then realised that his profile picture had turned completely black. She checked it hadn't just glitched and refresh the page. It was weird but she brushed it off. After a little while of waiting and staring at the screen she started to feel tired. Her eyes started to flicker and that's when she realised her screen had changed. It was now like a digital portal you see in anime. Suddenly all she knew was her mum screaming telling her to switch her phone off but it was too late.

//Layla's Moms POV//

I had been watching my favourite cooking show when it was interrupted by braking news. It started by staying that a particular app I knew Layla loved to uses to message her friends on have been hacked and was now extremely dangerous due to some new technology. It stated that if we had the app or knew someone who might be using it we were to immediately get them off it and delete it.
As fast as I could I sprinted  upstairs but I was too late and I saw my daughter collapse with her phone on the floor beside her.
