Layla felt an unfamiliar sense of falling, her surroundings flashing from black to Grey to White and back again in a blur of pixels. Suddenly she stopped moving and felt a solid Beneath Her Feet. The world finally came into view and she found herself in a completely white room.
"H-hello?" She tried to keep her voice steady but honestly was too confused to do so.
"Welcome Layla" A typical female robotic voice replied. Layla almost fell over backwards in surprise. She whipped her head around trying to find the source.
"Welcome to the grid, you have been chosen due to your skills and personality to become this games Cassandra Cain. I will keep this short and state the rules. There is only one, you die here you die in real life."
"WHOA WHOA WHAT?!" Layla suddenly had a feeling of deja vu from her favourite anime, sword art online and she started to panic. Did this mean she was in a computer!?
"You'll be arriving shortly" and with that the pure whiteness of the room disappeared and she found herself falling onto a hard green field.
After a while of laying on the grass she rolled over to look up at the sky. She could remember her past, her mom.. her dad.. but she could also remember living another life, the life of Cassandra.
She could remember all her pain and had all her memories. Dumbstruck with the second life, she slowly stood up and looked around only to spot a puddle nearby. She made her way over to it and when she looked at her reflection she saw the face of her Idol, Black Bat. Taken aback her mouth hung open in shock.
Layla knew she had to find other people, surely she wasn't alone here. She set off in search of a Village. And with that the start of the grid Games began.
