'Once upon a time there was a little prince who lived in a planet scarcely bigger than himself and who had need of ...a friend.'*

He did not know what he had been thinking...in fact, he wasn't sure if he even put any thought into doing what he just did. He had been rather careless, he'll admit. He went in head first and with reckless abandon, with absolutely no regard for what was to come to him.

In hindsight, maybe going in blindly and tackling random people wasn't the best of ideas...and being faced with a pair of cold, obviously ticked off, (e/c) eyes staring down at him despite the rather compromising position they were in certainly solidified the fact that it was the understatement of the century. He felt small under their intense gaze and it certainly made him wish he hadn't gone through the short route to get back home.

Maybe he should have just taken the train home? Or he could have stayed at school a little bit longer? He did have a few assignments that required a couple books from the library...he should have dropped by and checked them out earlier instead of deciding to get them tomorrow. Not to mention his mom had asked him to go and buy a carton of eggs and a kilo of pork from the super market, which reminded him of the initial reason he decided to pass by the shopping district in the first place.

However, throughout his internal debate with himself, he sort of forgot that he was right on top of another person.

Which is yet another wrong move on his part. It was something someone like him should not have overlooked.

Rookie mistake.

He scurried backwards and retracted his hand as if it had just been scalded but it was a fruitless effort.

With a mean right hook to his face, the person underneath him completely took him by surprise. Pain bloomed on his left cheek and he was sure to feel that in the morning.

Well, it wasn't all that surprising considering the circumstances...it was a pretty natural reaction. He couldn't hold anything against them though.

Now how would he go and explain this to his mom?

Placing a hand on his cheek which was already showing signs of swelling, he fearfully cowered at the sight in front of him.

The stranger he had unwittingly pinned down was glaring daggers at him. If looks could kill, he would have been six feet under a hundred times over. He felt shivers run down the back of his spine. Throughout his lifetime, he had been on the receiving end of such glares more times than he could care to remember but none of them had the same effect as this. The phrase 'one wrong move and you're dead' suddenly came into mind as he thought he had seen his life briefly flash right before his eyes.

They were harsh, merciless...

Unfeeling.

He silently prayed to whatever deity was out there to get him out of this situation he had unknowingly gotten himself into. If there was a god, he'd hope that he'd hear his plea. He was racking his brain for ways to escape, trying to scooch backwards as the (e/c) eyed stranger stepped closer with a cold gleam in their eye. He yelped as he felt his back make contact with a wall.

He had nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. He was literally backed into a corner and there was nothing he could do. It was a secluded, dark, back alley and no one in there right minds would have willingly chose to come here.

He did but that was besides the point.

He should have just minded his own business instead he allowed his foolhardiness get the best of him.
