"Oh my god! Dipper I can't believe we're going back! I'm so excited!" Mabel's high pitched yells barely even reached her brother's ears, let alone were processed into thought. He simply lay on his bed like he had done, staring at the photos he'd taped to his ceiling. "Dipper?" She turned to him, jumping off her bed and onto his. "C'mon broseph. I'm trying." She nudged him, but he just rolled to his side. "Ugh what's up with you! You've barely smiled in ages!" She got up and started pacing. "I mean, at first it seemed like it was because we were leaving Gravity Falls behind, but it's been a whole year Dipper! A YEAR!" She turned to him once more. "And now we're going back and you seem worse than ever! What's up with you!?" She repeated her question from earlier. He sat up, and tried his hardest to smile at her.
"Look, Mabel, I'm fine." He could feel how unconvincing he was. "Just...I'm tired." He walked up to her, not noticing the shocked expression on her face. "I'm happy to be going back, I really truly am. I promise." He smiled at her, and she stood still and quiet for a moment. Her hands shook, before she couldn't stop herself from launching into a hug. She wrapped her arms around her brother and held him as tight as possible, tears falling down her face. "Mabel...?"
"I...I know we usually agree to hugs first, but...I really needed this. You've barely noticed me in weeks, and I..." she lost her sentence to the tears, as her brother slowly wrapped his arms around her.
"Shh. Mabel, I'm sorry. I was a huge jerk for taking my feelings out on you, especially for so long. But everything's going to be okay now. We're going back."
